Appeal for Pakistan
Message from the IslamicAnswers.com Staff:
As-salamu alaykum everyone,
As we sit comfortable in our homes, breaking our Ramadan fast at the end of the day with clean water and plentiful food, let's thank Allah from the bottoms of our hearts, and let us remember those who are suffering and desperately need help.
The situation in Pakistan is truly desperate. Look at the heartbreaking photos below, then ask yourself how any of us could refuse to help in good conscience. If you have already donated for these victims, Jazakum Allah khayran katheeran (may Allah reward you so much).
I know that times are hard. Some people are out of work, and most of us are struggling. If you want to help but you do not have the money, just say dua' for them sincerely and earnestly. Allah knows your intention and your heart.
If you do have a little extra, remember that this holy month is a time of charity and compassion. Take this opportunity to have your good deeds magnified in Ramadan. Whatever you give, Allah will increase it for you and return it to you many times over in blessings and barakah.
You can donate immediately through one of the following organizations:
Life for Relief and Development
Both are good and trustworthy Islamic aid organizations who are working on the ground in Pakistan.
In addition to the photos below, which came from the BBC News Online, you can see 41 more astonishing and heartbreaking photos at Boston.com:
- Pakistani woman crying as her child is airlifted by helicopter from the flood.
- Villagers pray Maghreb on a roof. The UN says it has doubled the rate of relief, but that the number of those in need has increased rapidly. A spokesperson described it as a “race against time”.
- One fifth to one quarter of Pakistan is under water after the devastating floods. Tens of thousands of people are fleeing their homes to reach safer ground and aid. At least six million people are now homeless.
- Many of those affected have complained that the government’s response has been sluggish. Here, a man waves to a military helicopter delivering aid to the district of Muzaffaragh in Punjab.
- Homes stranded in flood water.
- Seven-year-old Sagori runs to an aid distribution point in Sukkur, Sindh province – just one of millions of flood survivors in need of food and water.
- The World Heath Organisation says that the number of people reporting acute diarrhoea is increasing, mainly due to poor sanitation and hygiene.
- A girl cares for her sick brother. Notice the IV bottle hanging on the tree. As flood waters continue to threaten homes, concerns mount over the risk of disease to those displaced.
- Boy stands in the flood waters in Pakistan.

i would love you send them donation but i dont not at all believe the peoples in pakistan in charge. For they will only spend half of the half money sent to them by the everyone. Politics in Pakistan will use that relief money and spend in on themselves and their kids and send them off to US or London to study at some Best Universities.
If i could only go there and volunteer and personlity help them out.
I will still send some money. Inshallah it will go in good hands.
Also fellow muslims please keep them in ur duas.
If you want to really help these people, you may send it through the following private NGOs with excellent repuration
PAKISTAN ISLAMIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION - PIMA
ALKHIDMAT TRUST
PAKISTAN ARMY'S OWN ACCOUNT
I CAN PROVIDE MORE PRECISE DETAILS IF YOU WANT. YESTERDAY, I READ THE STORY OF A WOMAN IN JANG WHO SAID
'

Dear All, Asalaamualaykum,
Brother Wael attached links to two reliable NGOs above for you to donate money through, you can check their reliability on the internet.
I would however caution you all to be wary of which other organisations you choose to send money through. Please check before you donate.
