Dream interpretation following namaaz Istikhara

Assalamu Alaikum

I recently got a marriage proposal from a boy and I did the namaz Istikhara. I dreamed of five white dogs trying to attack me and I was saving myself from them by beating them with my long umbrella. After I defeated them,  they seemed to vanish like magic.

Then, I dreamed I was entering a house with shiny tiles (half green colour and half brown colour). I wanted the interpretation of the dream, if anyone could help  pls.

Thanks!

  1. Dear Aizahs, As-salamu alaykum,

Istikhara is not dependent on having a dream and has nothing to do with dream interpretation. Please see some of the links at the top of our website to read our articles and get a proper understanding of Istikhara. To summarize, after you pray Istikhara, go ahead and make the decision that you think is best, and trust that Allah is guiding you to the right choice.

As for your dream, I am not a dream expert and I really can't say. If I were to speculate, I would say that the five dogs represent problems that you may face in life, and the umbrella represents your ability to defeat these problems with your own abilities; so it's an extension of your willpower, intelligence, and wisdom. After you defeat the problems they disappear, because they were never true obstacles in the first place.

    And Allah knows best.

  2. Assalam alikum,

There is a complete science behind the dreams in islam. you can download dreamers handbook from kalamullah.com

But be careful just do not nurrate youe dream to anyone except only some one knowledge able.

  3. Asalaam alaikum,

The only piece of advice that I can offer is to read Sura Yusuf every day. Coupled with dua to Allah (swt), this will help you in interpreting your own dreams, though it will do nothing in making you a dream interpreter for other people's dreams.

  4. I Got engaged 1 year before but lot of misunderstanding going on, i dint do istakhara namaz before getting engaged as there are lot of problems going on so performed isthakhara namaz yesterday and i saw in my dream (Deleted by the Editor)

    • Irum, we do not specialize in dream interpretation. Infact, there are very less people on Earth, who can correctly interpret dreams. Hence, do not pay much heed to the dreams you see.

Further, dreams are not necessary for Istikhaarah.

Insha Allah, if this man is good for you, you will see that your marriage becomes easy, otherwise, Allah will save you from it, insha Allah.

  6. My father's name is ***. I want someone to interpret his dream and do Istikhara

    • Ameer, I removed the personal information from your comment. Istikhara has nothing to do with parents' names, or birth dates, or dream interpretation. Please read our articles about Salat al-Istikhara (links at the top of the page) to get correct information.

    • Sister Miss M,

Istikhaarah need not result in dreams. Allah may or may not guide us through dreams. If you want help in making a decision, login and submit your post separately. In sha Allah, we will publish it in turn.
