4th Supplication

Translated as: "O Allah, I have entered a new morning and call upon You and the bearers of Your Throne, upon Your angels and all creation to bear witness that surely You are Allah, there is none worthy of worship but You Alone, You have no partners and that Muhammed is Your slave and Your Messenger."

Transliteration: 'Allaahumma 'innee 'asbahtu 'ush-hiduka wa 'ush-hidu hamalata 'arshika, wa malaa'ikataka wajamee'a khalqika, 'annaka 'antallaaahu laa 'ilaaha 'illaa 'anta 'wahdaka laa shareeka laka, wa 'anna muhammadan 'abduka wa rasooluka.'

Recite:

- 4 times every morning OR evening

Wisdom/Benefit:

- Safety from Hellfire

Proof/Hadith of this dua:

1. Allah’s Messenger(sws) said: “Whoever recites it once in the morning or in the evening, Allah will spare one quarter of him from the Fire. If he says it twice, Allah will save one half of him from the Fire. If he says it twice, Allah will save one half of him from the Fire. If he says it three times, Allah will save three quarters of him from the Fire, and if he recites it four times, Allah will free him from the Fire completely.” (meaning that day or night).

[Abu Dawood collected this hadith & did not comment on it. It was graded as Hadith Hassan by Ibn Al-Qayyim, Al-Munthiri, Ibn Hajar & by Ibn Baaz in his book at-Tuhfah. An-Nawawi said this hadith has a ‘good Isnaad’. Al-Albaani classified it as ‘weak’. We choose to go with the statements of the majority of scholars and keep saying this beautiful dua everyday.]

5th Supplication

Translated as: "O Allah, whatever blessing has come to me or anyone else from Your creation this morning is from You Alone. You have no partner. To You is all praise and thankfulness."

Transliteration: 'Allaahumma maa 'asbaha bee min ni'matin 'aw bi'ahadin min khalqika faminka wahdaka laa shareeka laka, falakal-hamdu wal lakash-shukru.'

Recite:

- Once every Morning & Evening

Wisdom/Benefit:

- If you are grateful, Allah will increase His favours on you, as Allah says: “...If you are grateful, I will surely increase you in favour,” [Surah Ibrahim, Ayah 7]

- Recognising that Allah is the only source of all bounty and blessings will boost our reliance on Him and help us achieve freedom of our souls: Tawheed ar-Rububiyah.

- Tawheed ar-Rububiyah is the best cure for many problems, i.e.: peer pressure, low self esteem, fear of rejection, fear of public speaking, social anxiety, showing off & more.

Proof/Hadith:

1. The Messenger of Allah(sws) said: “Whoever recites (this supplication) in the morning, then he has offered the thankfulness of the day, and whoever recites the same in the evening, he has conveyed gratitude for that evening.” [Abu Dawood, Ibn Hibaan and was classified as Hassan by Ibn Baaz].

6th Supplication

Translated as: "O Allah, make me healthy in my body. Oh Allah preserve for me my hearing. Oh Allah preserve for me my sight. There is none worthy of worship with truth but You. O Allah I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is none worthy of worship but You."

Transliteration: 'Allahumma' 'aafinee fee badanee, Allahumma 'aafinee fee sam'ee, Allahumma 'aafinee fee basaree, Laa 'ilaaha' 'illaa 'anta. Allaahumma 'innee 'a'oodhu bika minal-kufri, walfaqri, wa 'a'oodhu bika min 'adhaabil-qabri, laa 'ilaaha 'illaa 'Anta.

Recite:

- Three times every Morning and Evening

Wisdom/Benefit:

- Purifies & reaffirms one’s Tawheed

- Good health from Allah

- Protection with Allah from disbelief, poverty and punishment in the grave

Proof/Hadith of Dua:

1. Narrated by AbdurRahman ibn Abee Bakra(ra): The son asked his father, why do you recite this dua every morning and evening. The father replied: “I heard the Messenger of Allah(sws) using these words in his dua and like to follow his sunnah.” [Classified as hassan by Ibn Haja, Al-Albaani & Ibn Baaz in his tuhfah. Collected by Abu Dawood, Ahmed, An-Nasai in Amal Alyawm wa allailah & by Al-Bukhari in Al-Adab al-Mufrad].

But remember, we must also take care of the health that Allah has bestowed on us by eating healthy and living a healthy lifestyle. Don’t expect that a mere recitation of this dua whilst eating McDonalds 3 times a day, smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol or lots of fizzy drinks will give us good health.

  1. Bismillahi rahman raheem.
Tnx tO Almighty Allah for giving me the oppurtunity to know this site.
Tnx to U [email protected] bless U all

  2. Assalamu alaikum. May Allah the Almighty rewards you and count this among your good deeds. Nevertheless the use of 'mere recitation' in trying to explain the need for us to be watchful of our health in the explanation of 6th supplication requires to be change to a more respectable word. Thanks
