		<description>Asalaamualaikum,

Istikhara is a dua which our Prophet (saw) used and advised us to read when deciding between halaal options to seek guidance from Allah. The dua of Istikhara is not taken from Quran.

Although we cannot perform Salaah while menstruating, we should still be asking for Allah&#039;s guidance. So we can read the specific Istikhara dua or any other dua of the Prophet(saw). We can also use any other dua from the Quran, as we are seeking guidance from Allah (swt).

This is my understanding and Allah knows best.
