Istikhara after broken engagement

Broken Glass

I really need advice from people who actually done this before.

First my situation is: you should know I'm 20 years old (young) man, I loved this woman from all of my heart and we have been in this relation for quite a while and we were meant to be married with all good intentions. But a week before, she was pressured and needed space that I stupidly didn't give, we had some fights before too. But we actually were so happy together, every relations has fights I guess. But it all piled into 1 thing and made her say its over.

So I never had any bad intention about her but to actually marry her in the future(hallal). So I just did 2 rokat, and then did the dua and asked God if I should just move on, or is she my fate(kesmte) and I had a really good feeling after it, that she's going to come around.

Now my question is, is this just my subconscious mind playing games on me and giving false hope, or is this feeling after istikhara which was so positive in which I imagined her in my mind saying "sorry, I just needed space". Anyone can help?

  1. If she agrees to marry you, then you have God's answer. If she does not agree to marry you, then you have God's answer.

Istighara does not give rise to a psychic message from God.

Non of us can predict the future, yet that is what you are asking us to do.

I think you should just wait and see.

There are several articles about istikhara published on this website; it might help to read these and learn more about istikhara?

Remember that, although you care about her, this girl is not your mahram. This means that you need to observe appropriate limits with her - eg. no private correspondence, not meeting in private. It's important to ensure that you do this from now on (whether with this girl or any other). It's also important to repent for any previous transgressions of these limits.

  3. I did istikhara twice to get guidance regarding IVF treatment for having kids. In first place i saw my aunt who says she is going to her sister house at saudi arabia to perform umrah (my sis is living actually at Saudi Arabia)

In second place i saw that i am making roti but that breaks. Same day after fajar prayer, i saw that me and my family is at Saudi for umrah. It starts raining, i see two crescents falling with rain water from sky, my mother catches one crescent and that is made of ice.

Please guide me whether its a hint to perform umrah for my wish to come true or what?

    • rehma Istikhara is not dependent on dreams or dream interpretation. Please read our articles about Salat al-Istikhara (links at top of page).

      • Thank u, jazakAllah. Means I should perform istikhara once again? If no conclusion can be withdrawn from these two dreams? Please reply
