Istikhara for future studies

I did istikhara for about more than 5 times regarding the selection of subjects for my future studies. I didn't see any Dream but when my father did, he saw a dream that Me, dad and mom were entering Masjid- al - Haram but the gate keeper stopped us. He asked about the big bag i was holding. My father said that these are my daughter's books. The guard looked into the bag and asked us to leave the bag if we want to enter the masjid. We placed the bag near the huge gate and entered the Masjid- al - Haram.

Kindly tell me the interpretation as I need guidance as soon as possible.  Thank you.

  1. I don't know the interpretation of the dream.

I think the selection of subjects depends on your interest in which subject you like the most.

Why did you need to do Istikhara for the selection of subjects. If you like maths go for those subjects and if you like science then go for those subjects.

I think Istikhara would be required in the case of selection of college or in the case of which school to goto.

    • istikhara can be done for anything..and i commend fatima for resorting to istikhara for making her lifes decisions for no doubt Allah is the best Planer and all knowing..surely his guidance and HIS plan is far better than ours

  2. I think you need to go to a person who is interpretation expert... You might lose something becz of your studies.. Besure that your university should not in co-education... JazakAllah...may Allah correct our mistake

  3. Sister,

Istikhara has absolutely nothing to do with dreams and others cannot perform Istikhara for you. Istikhara is more about a feeling of sorts...positive, negative or maybe nothing at all.Think hard about the subjects you wish to study...what would you like to be or do when you finish school? Think about your strengths and weaknesses. Do you excel at math? Think for example how you could use your math skills to your advantage. Engineering and Pharmacology come to mind. There is a world out there filled with opportunities for you.

Sometimes you can't decide upon a path and even when you do, you may find that you still aren't sure about your choice. My son finished high school and still wasn't sure of the direction he wanted to go. He decided to pursue engineering and even then he pulled me aside and said, "I don't know if this is for me." I told him to take a semester and if it wasn't his thing, we'd take a look at options. Some kids change their major several times over because they find that what they are majoring in isn't what they want. You need to know that this is okay and if necessary, you change your major to something you find better suits you.

Overall, you think about a major that pays well, is in demand and if possible, something you will enjoy while doing it. The options are endless. Good luck to you in your studies!

    Salam

  4. no one can interpret your dream , istikhara is not related to dreams

  5. I really really wanted to do ACCA but my mom did istikhara two times and in both of those, I got a negative answer. I really want to do ACCA but idk what to do. Can someone guide me? Is it really bad if I go against the istikhara?
