Is this an Authentic Dua for Proposals to Work?

The Right Girl

The Right Girl

Assalamualaikum,

I am worried about my marriage. I am searching for a good bride since more than 2.5 years now who should be religious, caring, good-looking. Most of the time whatever proposal comes to me somehow I don’t like it and if I like any proposal it ends up not in my favor. Recently it happened that I like the proposal and I am liked by bride parents as well, but just before fixing the date of marriage the proposal was rejected by bride parents.

Can someone help me with any Dua for marriage and getting out of this problem? One of my friend suggested me to recite "ya badeeul ajaaibe bil nikahi ya badeeo" 1111 time for 12 days. Is doing so is correct...? If anyone knows the authenticity of this pleases reply.

Jazakallah

  1. Assalamu'alaikum,

Brother Abdul Aziz, this does not seem to be a dua from the Quran or the Sunnah. Duas should be approved by Allah in His Word - the Quran, and by His Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam in the Sunnah. Additionally, specifying a number of times and a number of days a dua should be read is not acceptable, except with proof from the Quran or the Sunnah.

Ask your friend to provide reference from the Quran or the Hadith. If he provides them, it is alright. Otherwise, it is not to be practiced. Wallahu A'lam.

Concerning your proposals, seek help from Allah with Salatul Istikhaarah. In sha Allah, you will find Help from Allah, when you do it with conviction and complete trust in Allah.

  2. Salam.

Firstly, i just want to say that everything happens for the best and only Allah knows whats best for you in the long run.

“….and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” (Quran Al-Baqarah:216)

I think the below hadith may apply to your case since your looking to get married which avoids some major sins.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “There are three who are entitled to Allah's assistance: the one fighting in Allah's cause, the slave seeking to earn his liberty, and a person getting married to preserve his chastity.” [ Sunan al-Tirmidhî (1655) with a sound line of transmission.

I just think that you should keep making dua. Because Allah is always listening 🙂 If you can, get up for Tahajjud and it's like a guarentee your dua will be accepted.

I dont know of the dua you mentioned but i know this one has been recommended:

Oh my Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous
    [25:74]

    This is another:

Dua'a 186 Matrimonial affairs proposal of Marriage According to Imam Jafar bin Muhammad as Sadiq(as), it is written in Biharul Anwar, whoever desires to marry should recite the following du-a'a before making a formal request for marriage.

“O’ Allah! I desire to marry, so arrange for me a woman from those who willingly abstain from what is unlawful and who safeguards her soul for my sake and because of her, not only my means of sustenance will increase, but also make there be in it abundance and also make it sure that she will give me a virtuous son, who will be a noble successor in my life and after my death.”

Please remember to pray istiqara before marrying anyone, because as i said, Allah knows best.

I hope Allah blesses you with a good wife. Ameen.

    • Please check the authenticity of the dua from the book called biharul anwar as the book in itself seems unauhentic. Additionally, preference for a male child is not established, while, we have ahaadeeth that show preference female children.
