Bad thoughts about Allah

Suspicious thoughts

Suspicious thoughts can become chronic and difficult to reason with.

Asalamu alakum.

In the past I had done many sins. Now I'm trying to turn to Allah and seek his forgiveness. But I feel my iman is weak. I try to believe in Allah and try to build my iman, but sometimes when I talk to myself about good things about Allah, bad thoughts come in my mind and say bad things about Allah.

But I know that I had no control of saying it. Sometimes i wonder if its me saying it. Its getting me very frustrated. I want to do good deeds. I want to go to Paradise.

So please brothers and sisters help me.

Give me some advice on what to do.

Thank you and may Allah (swt) bless you.

  1. Dear Sister,

You are not alone in what you feel. You know that what you are experiencing is from shaytaan but you don't know how to rid yourself of it. I found an answer to the same question you have asked, given by Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Please read the following, taken islamonline.net

    ***

Dear sister in Islam, thanks a lot for your question, which reflects your care to have a sound belief and faith. Allah commands Muslims to refer to people of knowledge to become well acquainted with the teachings of Islam in all aspects of life.

“Evil thoughts could very well be whisperings of Satan. Whenever such thoughts occur to you, you must turn your attention immediately away from them by seeking refuge in Allah (by saying: “A`udhu billahi mina ash-shaytani-r-rajim; I seek refuge and protection in Allah from Satan, the accursed”). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Allah has forgiven my Ummah of the whisperings of their souls so long as they do not talk about it or act accordingly.”

To explain this further, our thoughts can be divided into different categories: 1) the constant self-talk or idle thoughts that assail our minds over which we have no control; 2) thoughts that we dwell on; 3) intentions that we formulate based on those thoughts. We are not accountable for the first stage, namely the self-talk unless we dwell on them and nurture them in our minds, since we have no control over them. We are accountable if we dwell on them as well as for the deliberate intentions that we formulate based on these thoughts.

Having said this, it is also crucial for us to consider the treacherous nature of our hearts (more precisely our souls) and must exercise vigilance against them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us that “Hearts are ever changing.” The word “qalb” in Arabic means twisting and turning. So we must take care to dismiss and reject bad thoughts that assail our hearts and minds by ever turning to Allah for refuge and protection. We must also recognize that ultimately we have no power to master these evil inclinations except through the help of Allah. The remedy and cure therefore lies in consistency in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and istighfar (seeking Allah’s forgiveness).

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us the following du`a’s (supplications) to master the evil inclinations of our souls, and, accordingly, these must form part of the daily spiritual regimen of every believer:

Allahumma ya muqalliba al-qulub thabbit qalbi `ala dinika. (O Allah, O You Who are the twister of hearts, so make my heart firm and steadfast on Your religion).

Rabbi a`udhu bika min hamazati ash-shayatin.
(My Lord, I seek Your refuge and protection against the whisperings of devils).

Finally, read the Sayyid al-Istighfar (master supplication for forgiveness) in the morning as well as before retiring to bed: Allahumma, anta rabbi, la ilaha illa anta; khalaqtani wa ana `abduka, wa ana `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika ma istata`tu; a`udhu bika min sharri ma sana`tu; abu’u laka bi ni`matika `alayya wa abu’u bi dhanbi; fa ighfir li, fa innahu la yaghfiru al-dhunuba illa anta. (O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You; You have created me, and I am Your servant, and I stand firm on my covenant with You according to the best of my ability; I seek refuge in You from the evils of my own actions; I acknowledge Your favors upon me and I confess my sins to You; so forgive me, for no one has power to forgive sins except You.)

Finally, examine yourself, and see if you have been guilty of any major sins; if you have been, make sincere repentance to Allah from all of them without delay.” (Source: http://www.islam.ca)

With regards to your previous sins, know that Allah(swt) promises forgiveness. We just need to turn back to Him(swt).

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “One who sincerely repents of his sin is as if he had never committed it. When Allah loves one of His servants, his sins do not harm him." Then he (the Prophet pbuh) recited the verse: ‘Assuredly, Allah loves the oft-repentant and those who always seek to purify themselves.”“

  2. isah93zx, I will only remind you that every good and pure thing in this world comes from Allah. Your very life and health, the breath in your lungs, your ability to see and speak and hear, all come from Allah. Think about someone who is blind or severely disabled, or someone who died in childhood, and you will see how much you have been blessed.

Every pure food in this world is a gift from Allah. The water we drink, the oceans, the mountains and trees, are all gifts from Allah. He could have created a very drab and miserable world for us to live in, but instead He created this amazing, beautiful planet for us.

Allah gives us pure things, and people corrupt them. Allah gives us free will so we can be righteous and brave and loving, but some people choose to be abusive and mean. Allah gives us strength and intelligence so we can safeguard the world and be the khalifah of this planet, but some people choose to sow corruption and pollution. That is our fault, our responsibility, not Allah's.

Every good thing that we have, every special and beautiful thing, comes from Allah. We have so much to be grateful for.

    • If we are blessed then why aren't the blind and disabled blessed?

      • I'm not saying they are not blessed. Everyone is blessed in different ways, and everyone is tested in different ways. Every person should look to whatever gifts and blessings Allah has given him, rather than focus on what he does not have.

        Wael
        IslamicAnswers.com Editor

        • I mean why are they less blessed than us?

          • Who says they are? There are many kinds of blessings. Wisdom is a blessing. Intelligence, the ability to walk, food on the table, people who love you... these are all blessings. And Islam is the greatest blessing of all.

As I said, everyone is tested in different ways. If one is patient with whatever Allah has given him, he passes the test and will receive a great reward.

          • But some people have all of those qualities.
And some don't have almost any of them. Those who are blessed less or poor generally go into depression and start losing faith more than those who are more blessed. Isn't it unfair for them?

          • "Those who are blessed less or poor generally go into depression and start losing faith more than those who are more blessed."

Actually, that's not true. If anything, depression is more common among the rich than the poor. Look at all the wealthy celebrities who die of drug overdose, disfigure themselves with plastic surgery, or retreat from the world like Howard Hughes.

I have known many people who grew up poor but completely happy. And I have also known people with disabilities who made good lives for themselves and were quite happy. I saw a therapist for a few years back in the early 2000's. She was a Palestinian woman who used to treat victims of Israeli torture before she came to the USA. She was smart, easy to talk to and insightful. She was also blind, and had been so since the age of 5.

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If the son of Adam possessed a valley full of gold he would want to have two valleys, yet his mouth will only be filled by earth. Allah turns towards those who turn in repentance."

No matter how much people have been given they always want more, except for those who turn their faces toward Allah. Only with the remembrance of Allah does the heart find peace. The Messenger of Allah (sws) was poor all his life. He lived simply, never ate fine food, and never cared for material luxuries. And he was the best of humankind.

          • Yeah but the rich people get noticed. Most of the poor depressed ones don't get noticed.
I also like a simple lifestyle although I have everything. But I feel bad for the poor and those less blessed than me.

          • No,in the day of judgement when sick people get there reward the paradise, then people who were good health in the earth will say I wish I were like him.

  3. Is saying bad thoughts lead you to murtad? reply me ASAP.

    • No murtad is a very different thing...

uncontrollable thoughts are forgiven, and are mostly from Shaytaan. The more you stick with good muslim sisters, and do your prayers and seek forgiveness, it fades away

As the sister said b4, in the hadith the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Allah has forgiven my Ummah of the whispering of their souls so long as they do not talk about it or act accordingly.”

Whenever a bad though come to you, make istighfar and say Auzubillahi min alshaytaan irrajeem (I seek refuge with Allah from the cursed shaytaan). Fighting Shaytaan is considered a high form of struggle ( jihad ), and has lots of rewards.

Avoid being alone as being alone is the favorite of shaytaan.

      • Should you find yourself alone you should busy yourself with zikr and reading the Qur'aan and Ahadiyth and praying. Thus shaytaan will give up on you and leave you alone until next time.

  4. I have q.
Can you elaborate category # 3 Thoughts that we dwell on.

    Jazak'Allhu Khayr

  5. Asalum alakum dear brothers and sisters
Lately during this beautiful month of Ramadan I have been feeling very depressed and overcome with sadness. Since before Ramadan started I have been unable to get horrible thoughts about Islam out of my head even to the point where I wish I could just die by just thinking about them sometimes I start crying because my Iman feels so low and I am questioning things that shouldn't even cross my mind. Whenever I try to go read the Quran fear builds up in my heart like I committed a horrible sin. Yes, I now there are no devils in Ramadan but I honestly don't now why this happening. Am I a bad Muslim???? Lately the thoughts have gotten bad to the point where it is questioning who is god plz plz help me I don't want to be a khafra help me find away to overcome this.

    • Assalam'o'Alaikum

I am going through similar situation where lately I have been questioning our religion and bad thought come to my mind and I feel bad about it later. I have been feeling sad and I feel great sense of anger in myself and just they other day I was sort of arguing like devil in not closed in Ramadan and things like that but I felt sorry for saying that. My life has been pretty challenging since last few years and even thought I know I couldn't have make through without reading quran and doing my prayers i feel as if I am being pulled away.

I am just a regular person but I think as long as you have fear of allah in your heart and sense of awareness what is coming to your head is not right you are not khafirah.
If you feel like you have sin ask for forgiveness with true heart and god will forgive you but whenever bad thought come to your mind read kulma or A`udhu billahi mina ash-shaytani-r-rajim or Istighfar and inshallah your bad thoughts will go away.

I think in this time and age we are more lonely and surrounded by things that are not important but we unfortunately focus on them way too much that we begin to ignore things we have, every time I feel low I think about people who don't have what I have and I thank god for what he blessed me with but whatever you do don't stop praying and recite quran, if you can't read a lot read few lines from quran but don't stop reading and I have noticed in my experience whenever I feel scared or have bad thought I read istighfar and last two surah: Surah Falaq and Surah Nas from quran as often as i can and inshallah you will feel the difference yourself.

      I hope this helps
      Take care

      • I have ever bad thoughts and my life also over frustrated and my life was beautiful i find my beautiful life and today also i made cry often i cry sorry for share.....pray for me brothers and sisters

        • Assalamunalakum,
Try to wake up in after midnight 1 hour before Fajr and pray 2 rakats of night prayer ( Qiyamul layl ) it has a lot of benefits in this world and rewards in the hereafter one of the it benefit is that by praying this prayer it drives away the accursed shaytan from you and it also helps not to have bad thoughts about Allah and it removes sadness from heart and brightens the FACE. It also keeps you healthy.

  6. I have the same problem.. And now I'm afraid if the thoughts keep repeating in my head does this mean I am dwelling on it which would mean that I am responsible for them? I have been doing dhikr, i try to concentrate in my prayers, i do try to keep my mind distracted but it seems like the thoughts never want to go away. It has come to the extent of worrying if I am a munafik (naudzubillah) which i so hope that i am not. I am miserable, I feel bad all the time.. I dont know how to shake off these thoughts and feelings.

  7. i dont know what to do,,,every tym i recite "DUROOD" "ASTAGHFAR" but still i got bad thoughts about "QURAN" "ISLAM" "ALLAH" .......even my heart says i respect alot to all that related to ISLAM but my mind make me feel that i am very depressed i thought all that and started crying and i said that "OH!! GOD PLEASE KILL ME" i feel very bad because i love islam i love ALLAH i love HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (S.A.W.W) but i dont know why this happen to me?? i dont want to be kaafir.....Help me plzzz....i beg you all.

    • Dua, it's hard to tell from what you have said, but you may be suffering from depression. You should see a mental health professional and determine whether you need medication, or simply counseling. Try as much as possible to keep company with people who are positive and encouraging.

  9. assalamoalaikum dear brothers & sisters
i have also took this bad experience .but now by allah's greatfulness it almost covering , but sometimes how i dont know it comes (wasawasa).but i controlled it strongly & divert my mind doing dikhra. My father's well known person who is mufti allah blessed him he say me to do wadhu every time when u have waswasa & write 3 times sura e ekhlas (kulhu allahu ahad) it helps u to get out from this .its really works.always pray for allah to make us perfect muslim without taking our exam(azmaish).die as a perfect muslim.and never depressed allah will recover you from this worse condition ..inshallah. ameen summamin.my husband also help me to get out from this by diverting my mind to good thoughts.all of u keep us in ur prayers.

  10. Salaams-
I have a question: will we be held accountable for accidentally blurting out these thoughts? So if a person might have a waswasa pop into his head out of nowhere, and he mumbles it without meaning to at all, does it count against him since he had no intention to say such insulting phrases?
I always wondered that because it says you are accountable if you "speak of them".
Hope someone can clear this confusion for me...
    ~muslima01

    • muslima01, it seems unlikely to me that someone would accidentally blurt out a bad thought about Allah unless she is accustomed to saying such things out loud. For example, people who curse a lot (sh*t, etc) will say such things involuntarily because they are used to it. But a Muslim should always keep the praises of Allah on his tongue, so that whenever anything surprises her (good or bad) she will say, subhanAllah, alhamdulillah, ma-sha-Allah, etc.

      Wael
      IslamicAnswers.com Editor

      • My problem is that I keep mumbling these bad thoughts. I get severe inappropriate waswasa that are really blasphemous. I am not accustomed to cussing, swearing, etc... so I don't know why I get these severe waswasas. I admit I sometimes purposely think of these thoughts, which I know is bad, so I'm trying to work on that. But I always end up mumbling them. I don't know whether or not this is accountable against me. I think of them on purpose, but I don't mean to say them. What shall I do?

        • ?

          • Muslima, I just read your post and was reminded of coprolalia, which is involuntary swearing in the form of a "tic" that is sometimes associated with Tourette Syndrome:

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprolalia

These kinds of tics and involuntary thoughts and behaviors often have a neurological basis and can be helped with medication and other therapies. I imagine this type of thing is very distressing, so try seeing a neurologist for a medical opinion. I do not disagree with Br. Wael's advice, but if you feel this is beyond your ability to control and regulate, it may mean that it's something more than just a bad habit of swearing.

          • So what if someone uttered the bad blasphemous thoughts in fighting with shaitan,
I know that is also not right to say no shatain its you. ....
But just a confusing if someone accidentally mistakenly uttered blasphemous words for Allah and after that he would have been so upset.
Will he be accountable for such thing or will he comes under that criteria of speaking blasphemous thoughts? ??

Muslima01 --- Believe me I got your point , I have been in this state since many years and still worried about accountability for those words which I had mistakenly spoken. You and I are on the same path but here just a small piece of advise for you is '' Don't think of these thoughts or just ignore it '' .
As far our case is concerned of worried of accountability or I also have the fear of losing or gone away of past good deeds because of uttering blasphemous words or may be kufriya kalmaat.

I am trying to work on it as soon I ll get some , Definitely I ll tell you OR if you come up with some thing Please for Allah sake share with me too.

            JazakALLAH

          • muslima01 and syed, how are you guys ? I'm in the exactly the same situation as you guys. I blurted it out yesterday and now I am thinking about it. What do you do guys ? In fact, I almost spoke the shahadah so many times. What did you guys do then ? Taubah and move on(ignore it) ? Please reply me and tell me what your experience. I am looking forward towards your reply. I want to write my email here but the admin didn't allow it. Please reply me and I really really need to know what you guys did. • Just try not to voice these thoughts out loud. As long as you don't act on them and don't truly believe them, you should be fine.

I experienced the same problem in the past, shaytaan's just trying to mess with you.

      • i performed my salah and after that i made a dua about something that i want (it is not haraam)and i cried alot!
after finishing it i went to check something on pc the this thing came to me:
be happy with what u have and stuff like that ..does that mean that i should stop making dua for that thing!?
please this really bothers me i want an answer to this
do these kinds of signs matter?

    • Let these thoughts not affect Ur actions sister...keep praying keep fasting keep asking help from Allah...wake up at last part of the night and pray Tahajjud and make lots of dhikr and dua...you are not alone...many people r suffering from this..never lose hope in Allah's mercy...

  15. Salam to all my brothers and sister.

I am passing through the same problem currently and I have to say few things about it.

It a good news for all of you if you believe in Allah and ur facing waswasa from satan and you are worried about it you then you have potential to become a better Practicing Muslim because you are having fear of Allah in your heart.

Let me give you an example People only throw stones at those trees that carry fruits so people passing through this problem are having something that satan doesn't want that is devotation to Allah thus trying to confuse u.

  16. Are they forgivable during umrah? I did my 1st umrah well and I begged for jannah. But after that, most evil thoughts were recieved to me eben during tawaf of 2nd umrah.Still I have evil thoughts. It has been 3 months ago.Is my umrah not accepted? I am 16 years old.I was not that much bad but what happened and why happened, I dont know.Plz help!

  17. Firstly

All your cases should be judged individually because all of you are getting waswas (whispers)for different reasons

Before I continue let me remind you of a Hadith by our beloved Prophet Muhammad(saw)

Al-Bukhaari (5269) and Muslim (127) also narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, will forgive my ummah for whatever crosses their minds so long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.”

Check out this link for more evidences regarding this issue

    https://islamqa.info/en/99324

    Now

I noticed many of you are from the Asian continent which means you are mainly Indian Pakistani?

Firstly people need to understand there a big difference between DOUBTS an Whispers (waswas)

If you ask yourself honestly what it is?

If it's doubts then there a serious problem with your imaan

If it's waswas (whispers from Satan) then it's normal based on the Hadith an also life can be very tough an something's we don't like about life or maybe we having a hard time in our lives an etc we question things in our head (why?!why me?!why this?! Etc etc )we human it can happen

That's why we have a thing called sabr

Because in life we will go through trials an tribulations an Allah will test us in many ways

Allah says in the holy Quran

    Surah Baqarah verse 155

But I want to give you advice to those Muslims with all these issues

Firstly very very important that we understand Islam properly

I know many people follow blindly an end up in doubts an pain

Islam is very very easy an clear to understand

It seems to me you people are just worshipping Allah blindly an so many questions or doubts pop up in your mind

You should ask if you don't know

It's not haram to ask if you don't know Sahaba(ra)use to ask Prophet(saw)questions all the time

If you don't ask you will forever doubt

An now regarding the people who have been abused ,lost something ,hates certain things about Islam because they feel it's not right etc etc

My question to you is maybe you following the wrong people because Islam is not a oppressive religion

I know in Asia for eg they have the pier masters

They think they are god's an they abuse woman they are enemies of Allah an they make the people hate Islam an people eventually end up apostating

    Closing off comments

I wrote this from mobile so it's very messy ,forgive me

I want to say of you have doubts rather then whisper from Satan then that means there something wrong an your soul is yearning the answers

If you have was was (whispers)then it's normal so long as we do not act upon or say it

But I would say based on my experience you people are not following Islam properly an your Shaikh an muftis are doing a bad job

PS don't forget Scholars are not gods ask them anything you like at anytime

Once you have found out the answers an tackles the doubts ,insha your souls will find the continment it yearns for

Knowledge is the cure because knowledge increases imaan(faith)

    Insha

    Wa 'alaykum mu'salaam wrwb

Hope this helps an check out the links

    Allah make it easy insha

    ssalamu alaikum wrwb

Dear brothers an sisters in Islam

I've read all the comments an I must say I'm surprised nobody knows or knew the answer....

  18. I am having same problem now a days and I also want help

  19. Salam❤️
My brother or sister . Your not alone in this, dont lose hope, and never ever give up no matter how far you think you thnk you've gone.
Cause you've tasted truth and nothing in world can replace that paradise that you felt. Try remember the moments you had with Allah in the past. And don't ever forget the sweetness of faith he blessed you with. He is the Lord of mercy and he forgives all sins.his mercy overcomes his wrath .And these thoughts maybe down to a lot of reasons. Remember Muhammad (saw) and his character you were in love with his akhlak the kindness and selfless love. Remember Allan love you more than your mother love you
Remember that sometimes we fall into questioning, and that's ok. Somtimes we panic cause we're afraid and that may increase it. So stop worrying and remember it's a test always remember you are a believer and you are being tested.
Some question may not be from you. questions that you may have already answered. This is shaytan ignore him
The more you fall in the harder it is to get out but with Allan helps you can.

For some this may have become chronic and when you come across certain situation or ideas, notions or questions may come in your head. This developed from shaytans waswas. This maybe in prayer so stop and totally disregard it even if it comes in your head. Just continue. Best to get into routine have a strict timetable

1.When it's just bad thoughts or it's the same doubt that you have already answered say audhubillah and then amantubillahi warasulih. Try say out load that these doubts and bad thought are from shaytan who is trying to take me away from Allah.

2Look your heart knows it Lord. Shaytan is trying to cover this Firtra (natural disposition) with thes doubts.
Forgot about it by just doing things hshut shaytan out don't even answer some of these questions.

    2.

  20. Praise be to Allah

Evil whispers during prayer and at other times come from the Shaytan, who is keen to misguide the Muslim and deprive him of good and keep it far away from him. One of the Sahabah complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about waswas during prayer, saying: “The Shaytan comes between me and my prayers and my recitation, confusing me therein.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “That is a devil called Khanzab. If he affects you, seek refuge in Allah from him and spit drily to your left three times.” He (the Sahabi) said, I did that and Allah took him away from me. (Narrated by Muslim, 2203)

Proper focus (khushoo’) is the essence of prayer. Prayer without proper focus is like a body without a soul. The following are two of the things that help one to develop the proper focus:

1 – Striving to think about what you are saying and doing, pondering the meanings of the Quran, dhikr (words of remembrance) and du’as (supplications) that you are reciting; bearing in mind that you are conversing with Allah as if you can see Him. For when the worshipper stands to pray, he is speaking to his Lord, and ihsan (perfection of worship) means worshipping Allah as if you are seeing Him, and knowing that even though you cannot see Him, He sees you. Every time a person experiences the sweetness of prayer, he will be more inclined to do it. This depends of the level of one's faith – and there are many means of strengthening one’s faith. Hence the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Of the things of your world, women and perfume have been made dear to me, and my joy is in prayer.” According to another hadeeth he said, “Give us our rest through it, O Bilal (ie. with prayer),” and he did not say, give us a break from it.

2 – Striving to ward off the things that may distract you during prayer, namely thinking about things that are irrelevant or distracting. Waswas affects each person differently, because waswas has to do with a person’s level of doubts and desires and the degree to which a person is attached to other things or fears other things.

(From Majmoo’ Fatawa Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, 22/605)

With regard to what you say about the waswas reaching such a great level that you have begun to experience waswas that makes you think about Allah in ways that are not appropriate, these are evil whispers from the Shaytan. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

{And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.} (Fussilat 41:36)
Some of the Sahabah complained about the waswas that was bothering them. Some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said to him, ‘We find in ourselves thoughts that are too terrible to speak of.’ He said, ‘Are you really having such thoughts?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘That is a clear sign of faith.’” (Narrated by Muslim). (Narrated by Muslim, 132 from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah).

Al-Nawawi said in his commentary on this hadeeth (prophetic tradition): “The Prophet’s words, ‘That is a clear sign of faith’ mean, the fact that you think of this waswas as something terrible is a clear sign of faith, for if you dare not utter it and you are so afraid of it and of speaking of it, let alone believing it, this is the sign of one who has achieved perfect faith and who is free of doubt.”

And it was said that what it means is that the Shaytan only whispers to those whom he despairs of tempting, because he is unable to tempt them. As for the kafir (non-Muslim), he can approach him in any manner he wants and is not restricted to waswas, rather he can play with him however he wants. Based on this, what the hadeeth means is that the cause of waswas is pure faith, or that waswas is a sign of pure faith. Please see question no. 12315.

The fact that you hate that and your heart recoils from it is a clear sign of faith. Waswas happens to everyone who turns to Allah by reciting dhikr etc. It is inevitable, but you have to be steadfast and patient, and persevere with your dhikr and prayer, and not give up, because in this way you will ward off the plot of the Shaytan. {Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak.} Every time a person wants to turn to Allah, waswas brings other matters to mind. The Shaytan is like a bandit: every time a person wants to proceed towards Allah, he wants to block the way. Hence when it was said to one of the salaf (pious predecessors) that the Jews and Christians say, “We do not experience waswas,” he said, “They are speaking the truth, for what would the Shaytan do with a house in ruins?” (From Fatawa Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, 22/608).
    The remedy:

1 – If you feel that you are being affected by this waswas, say, “Amantu Billahi wa Rasoolihi (I believe in Allah and His Messenger).” It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Shaytan comes to one of you and says, ‘Who created you?’ And he says ‘Allah.’ Then the Shaytan says, ‘Who created Allah?’ If that happens to any one of you, let him say, Amantu Billahi wa Rusulihi (I believe in Allah and His messengers). Then that will go away from him.” (Narrated by Ahmad, 25671; classed as hasan (sound) by al-Albani in al-Saheehah, 116).

2 – Try to stop thinking about that as much as possible, and keep busy with things that will distract you from it.

Finally, we advise you to keep on turning to Allah in all situations, and to ask Him for help, and to beseech Him, and to ask Him to make you steadfast until death, and to cause you to die doing righteous deed.

    And Allah knows best.

  22. hello dear muslim family are you available to see this response

  23. The same thing happened to me as well. But i couldn't control it.Sometimes i thought that just dying was better than this.BUT it got a lot better because i prayed to Allah with all my heart.I told Him about my sadness and the feeling that my heart was almost gonna break.Allah is truly the All-Listener.Rather isn't it great that we feel such sorrow saying/thinking bad stuff about Allah.IT shows how great our love and respect for Allah is.Truly Allah is the most kind and All knowing
