Books on Islam

Assalamu alaikum

i have questions regarding the the book of Al-Ghazali. i have read "the inner dimension of islamic worship" translated by Muhtar Holland n  i loved it. then i get to know its part of the ihya ulum uddin book which a famous book of Al-Ghazali.

now my question is, is inner dimention book falls under volume 1 of the ihya? (chapter inner dimension of islamic worship covers are praye, zakat, fasting, pilgrimage, sending peace n salution to prophet Muhammad(SAW), night vigil n istikhara)

is the whole ihya book available in English? if so whose translation do u recommend?

do u recommend to buy chapterwise rather than buying the whole book as different chapters are translated by different people?

will  it spoil the joy of reading the books if without reading the first or previous chapters i jump to the last chapter which i know to be "rememberance of death and after life" - im very eager to read it as i have heard from people that it had massive impact on them n helped to be better muslim m learn islam better.

what are the other good books of Al_Ghazali apart from ihya? what are his marfati books?

other questions which is very much out of topic--why was Al-Ghazali's book burnt in muslim countries n preserved in christian countries like spain n uk?y some ppl comment that they see complete kufri in this book? can it be that his book was fabricated? if so y some scholar comment that if all book of islam got lost Ghazali's book would suffice it?

and do u kno any book from which i can learn arabic; especially Quranic arabic? i know how to read the Quran in arabic but dont get the meaning.it will be of great help if u recommend one.

last question--do i still get reward (10 nekki for each letter) for reading Quran in Arabic even if i understand nothing?

i would love if any one answer all my question in detail 🙂

may Allah always bless n protect u for ur effort

jazak Allah khairun

  1. Salaams,

I'm sorry, but this site is primarily devoted to advice for family and relationship issues. Although we are able to answer some general fiqh questions that are relevant to those areas, the questions you are asking are very specific and beyond the scope of our general expertise.

It may be that some random reader knows mor about Imam Ghazzali to answer your questions, but chances are you will have to go to someone who is an Islamic literary expert to get the information you're seeking.

ITS GOOD YOU MENTIONED THE STYLE AND NATURE OF YR SITE TO THE ABOVE ENQUIRY =IN THE MEANWHILE I HAVE REPLIED THE SAME.
IF YOU LIKE YOU CAN KEEP MY REPLY INTACT SO THAT THOSE WHO READ CAN UNDERSTAND THAT ISLAM IS ABOUT ALLAH AND THE TEACHINGS GIVEN TO PROPHETS OF ALLAH AND THE LAST AND FINAL NABI SALAHAUALAHIWASALAM WHICH IS SEALED AND FINAL FOR MANKIND TILL THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT -AND EVERY TOM DICK AND HARRY OF ALL REGIONS LIKE THE SOUTH ASIAN COUNTRIES WHO ARE INFLUENCED BY THE HINDU AND PARSI[PERSIN]MYSTICISM AND MONASTICISM HAVE DEVASTATED THE ORIGINAITY OF PURE ISLAM WHO THE LOCALITES MAKE FAMOUR DUE THEIR IN EFFICIENCY TO UNDERSTAND THEIR SATANIC MISCHIEF OF DEVIATED SECTS AND THE SECTARIAN TEACHINGS-
Celibacy MYSTICISM and Monasticism is Forbidden. Islam is totally opposed to monasticism and celibacy. Uthman bin Maz’un was a close companion of the Prophet. One day his wife came to the Prophet and complained, “O Messenger of God! Uthman fasts during the day and stands for prayers during the night.” In other words, she meant to say that her husband was avoiding sexual relations during the night as well as the day. The Prophet was angered. He did not even wait to put on his slippers. He went to Uthman’s house and found him praying. When Uthman finished his prayers and turned towards the Prophet, he said, “O Uthman! Allah did not send me for monasticism, rather He sent me with a simple and straight [Shariah]. I fast, pray and also have intimate relations with my wife. So whosoever likes my tradition, then he should follow it; and marriage is one of my traditions

”Allaah says: "And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of
Allaah (i.e., this Qur'an), and be not divided among yourselves."
    Surah Aali-`Imraan [3:103]
    2. And He says: "And do not be among the polytheists. Of those who
split up their religion and became sects, each sect rejoicing in that
which is with it." Surat-ur-Room [30:31-32]
    3. The Messenger of Allaah said: "I counsel you to have Taqwaa of
Allaah and to hear and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave were to
command you. For, verily, whoever amongst you lives (to grown old), he
will see many differences. So stick to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the
rightly guided khaleefahs. Cling tightly onto it and hold onto it with
your molar teeth. And beware of newly invented matters. For, indeed,
every newly invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is
a thing that leads astray, and everything that leads astray is in the
    Hellfire." 5.
Ibn Mas'ood said: "The Messenger of Allaah drew a line for us and
then said: 'This is the Straight Path of Allaah.' And he drew lines on
the left and right of it, and then said: 'These are paths of which
there is not one except that there is a devil upon it calling towards
it.' Then he recited the statements of Allaah 5
    : 'And verily, this is
My Straight Path, so follow it, and do not follow (other) paths for
they will separate you away from His path."
