Can I use a fake experience certificate to improve my job prospects?

Lies, telling lies, lying

Assalamu alaikum to all my brothers.. sorry my english is weak.. I want to know about doing a course by showing fake experience certificate..

I want to do a welding course, but for that you must have 3yrs of welding field experience.. but I am not in the welding field just now.. I work in different field and if I go to a welding related job, then I can't get the salary I am getting now.. It will be decreased to the salary of a fresher.. Now I have 12000 per month salary, and in welding job I will get only 7-8 thousand... I can't do that because my wedding is near.. side by side am taking the knowledge of welding also..

So can I show fake experience to the institute for this course?? Will my salary be halal?? I have seen the fatawa that the job and certificate doesn't have the relation for halal and haram.. please clear my doubt...

  1. Wa 'alaikumus-salaam warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh dear brother,

To show fake experience to the Institute for the course is the same as lying, and as Muslims, we are not allowed to lie.

My dear brother, look around you, isn't there anyone (e.g. a mother/father, a brother/sister, an imam etc...) from whom you will feel shy lying to someone in front of them? Would you not feel more shy from Allah knowing that you are in front of Him? Allah is more closer to you than everyone, therefore be more shy from Him than anyone.

Perhaps, you may want to consider some choices below:

    1. Continue working in your current field and save enough money for your wedding, and then get married. After your marriage, you may start working in the welding field while the both of you manage the little that you earn, with full hope that Allah will make the future better for you, inshaAllah.

    2. Postpone your wedding and start working in the welding field, and manage the little that you earn while you put all your trust in Allah, to make the future better for you, inshaAllah.

    3. Go to the Institute, and prove to them that you have the ability to do the welding course, even without any previous experience in the welding field.

The salary has no relation with your certificate, as long as you do your work properly as required from you. However, the sin of lying will still be there if the person has not been forgiven.

Hope this helps, and Allah knows best.

  2. Forget Halal or non-Halal you can't fake shopping experience and welding you'll burn your corneas out!! Do us all a favor and read up on welding before you walk into a class with a bunch of experienced welders and pretend you know what you're doing. You need to know the appropriate gas mixtures got light a flame that you'll be welding with you need to know the risks and the technique of welding you need to know the difference between spot welding and other kinds of welding. You need to know when it's safe to look at your welding flame and when it's not safe and what the possible damages to your eyesight could be. You need to know the names and the purposes of all the equipment involved including safety equipment. This is why taking a welding class isn't like taking any other course where are you walking with zero experience and learn all you need to know in the classroom. Plus everyone around you will be talking about welding and you will be like I don't know anything about it. You probably won't last a week just based on the fact that it will become very obvious that you lied when you said you had experience. He'll probably eject you from the course just for liability reasons.

  3. Assalam alaikum Brother,

I am not sure if you sincerely thought anyone would advise you to lie about welding, but I am sure no one will!

The reason why any profession or program calls for experience is because it is required. They don't do so to make lives miserable!

    Listen to the advice above.

Either delay your wedding or adjust your lifestyle. It isn't impossible. But do the right thing.

May Allah ease your difficulties, Ameen.

  4. no. never tell lies in your means they do not last long rather will suffocate your future . my experience

  5. Salaams,

Lying about welding experience to get into this course could blow up in your face. Literally and figuratively.

Not worth the risk either way.
