  1. If you have a civil divorce, that is enough. A woman has a waiting period after a divorce to ensure paternity if she is shown to be pregnant during that time (3 months?) After that, the lady can remarry again. Talk to the imam at your mosque if you can. Conversion is not a hard thing. You say the shahada in front of two witnesses. You do not have to go through classes. Parents. That can be an issue. Pray to Allah for their hearts to be softened toward Islam.

  2. assakamalaikum-
DEFYING ALLAH FOR THE SAKE OF PAPMPERING YOUR PARENTS INSTEAD OF REBERTING AND ALSO INVITING THEM TO REVERT AND SAVE YOU ARE GOING RHE OPPOSITE WAY IN THE APPROACH TO ISLAM-IT IS WRONG TO PREFER PARENTS ABOVE THE WEALTH OF ISLAM.

but i dont want my parents will know that i will be converted coz it breaks thier heart.

  3. Jay, I know what you mean. But one day, they will come to know about your new Religion. What will you do then? Turn back to Christianity to make them happy or stay with Islam to make your Creator Pleased?

Islam is the only religion acceptable with The Creator. If you are sincere in your Islam, even the civil divorce with your ex husband is not required according to the Sharee'ah. You just wait 3 months after you accept Islam, inform your husband and offer him Islam. If he accepts, he has more right that ypu choose him, than anyone else. If he denies, you are free to marry any Muslim man.

Whether your parents know it or not, you should have patience, and a lot of it. You may see problems in your life, but Allah Will ease them, in sha Allah. Have patience and mve ahead.

    • Salaams,

The short answer to your question is that Muslim men may marry women who are Christian (any denomination) or Jewish. These individuals are referred to as "ahl al kitab", or "people of the book". However, I imagine there is more to your specific situation than just the faith differences, so I invite you to log in and submit a post with more details so you can receive the best advice on how to approach this potential marriage.

    • @Gugu

I would like to tell you about Islam

We Muslims worship Allah - the only one GOD who created you and me and all that exists.
The GOD of Adam, Noah , Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammed (peace be upon them) and all.

why did Jesus(peace be upon him) the son of Mary (may Allah be pleased with her) came to this earth?
Jesus came to teach people about ALLAH. He came to teach people to worship none but ALLAH alone without associating any partners with HIM.

      Allah says
“And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)”
      {Quran 51:56}

      Allah says,

Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One,
"Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks).
He neither begets nor is born,
"And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."

      (Quran 112: 1-4)

  6. @Jayjaysande u said but yet i didnt go to masjid to do tashahud. you mean to say shahadah ?

    {Quran 51:56}

Have you declared the shahadah ?

If anyone has a real desire to be a muslim and has full conviction and strong belief that Islam is the true religion ordained by Allah for all human-being, then, one should pronounce the “shahada”, the testimony of faith, without further delay. The Holy Qur’an is explicit on this regard as Allah states :

“The Religion in the sight of Allah is Islam” (Qur’an 3:19)

in another verse of the Holy Qur’an, Allah states :

“If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (Submission to Allah), Never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (their selves in the hell fire).” (Qur’an 3:85)

In addition, Islam is the only religion prevailing over all other religions. Allah states in the Holy Qur’an :

“To thee We sent the Scripture in the truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety :…. (Qur’an 5:48)

Mohammad, the Prophet of Allah (Peace and blessing of Allah be upon him), said :

“The superstructure of Islam is raised on five (pillars) : testifying that there is no God (none truly to be worshipped) but Allah, and that Mohammad is the messenger of Allah, performing the prayer, paying the Zakah (poor-due), fasting the month of Ramadan, and performing Hajj.”

if you haven't declared the shahada then do it right now..

The Shahada can be declared as follows:

“ASH-HADU ANLA ELAHA ILLA-Allaah Wa Ash-hadu anna Mohammadan abduhu wa rasuluh”.

    The English translation is:

“I bear witness that there is no deity (none truly to be worshipped) but, Allaah, and I bear witness that Mohammad is the servant and chosen messenger of Allah”

By saying the shahadah you will enter into islam.
