  1. Assalamu alaykum Sister Andresa,

Welcome to Al Islaam. May Allah help you in your journey to Islam and guard you from Shaytaan.

You may change if you like to change, if you wish to keep your current name, you may do so. Choice is yours. There is no compulsion.

Only if a name is against Islam, it should be changed when one enters Islam.

Insha Allah, whatsoever you do, do it to seek the good pleasure of Allah and satisfaction of your soul in the right way.

    May Allah bless you.

    Salaam,
    Your brother.

  2. Peace be upon you Andresa,
I am so glad you want to convert to Islam. It is a truly beautiful religion MashaAllah.

I echo what brother Munib said - if your name does not have an unislamic meaning then you don't need to change it, unless you want to.

Just for information looked up the name:
The name Andresa comes from the name Andrea which means 'strong, courageous, manly, virile.'

  3. Peace be unto u my dear friend!!! I second all what sara and b.munib said. . . I want to use this oppurtunity to welcome and congratulate u to d religion of peace (islam). . . . Pls sister, i want u to use this previllage to learn more and more about islam so that u can became a pious and devouted muslima. . . Prastise the " do's " which islam ordained and forbid the "don'ts" and inshaALLAH you will be successfull in this world and in the hereafter
