That is an interesting question.
I found 20 Aayaat in the Qurab where Allah mentions the night and the day together. In all of these 20, He mentions the night before the day.For example, He Says in Surah al An'aam, Aayah 13:
وَلَهُ مَا سَكَنَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ۚ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
And to Him belongs that which reposes by night and by day, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
If you consider the changing of calendar dates, according to Islam, it chages when the sun sets. It is not bery different in the English Calendar as accordong to it, the date changes at 12 PM or 00.00 Hours.
