Manju or Manjhu is a Sanskrit word meaning "pleasant" or "sweet".  So there is nothing wrong with the name and the brother does not have to change it.

However, I usually advise new converts to change their names. I think it's an important psychological step, as it symbolizes the beginning of a new life, and allows one to choose the name of a Prophet or great Islamic figure, or a name that signifies the worship of Allah.

  3. Why would anyone need to change their name? Their parents gave them that name out of love! Islam is your present and future but your life before Islam is your past and is not something to be ashamed of. Some Muslims such as myself weren't even given Islamic names at birth, but it doesn't make me any less of a Muslima...
