dua for admission to med school

Doctor in lab coat extending hand
salam,

I need help. I do not know what to do. I am a girl who wants to study medicine; I have always wanted to do that. I have worked hard for it, but after I finished collage everything went wrong. My grades dropped. The teachers were not happy with me and everything changed. They came with small excuses and I never got the grades I should have gotten. I protested, but it did not help.

I have now applied for higher studies, but I did not get admission in the first round. I was number 10, but they would not take in more students. I had no choice and had to force myself into any study just to study something. I could not tell my parents that. I had applied for other studies too, and said that I was studying something similar to medicine and could switch over to medicine after some years. But I didn't get into that study, either.

I had no choice, because I could not hurt my parents- they were so proud (I was really a good student and they knew it). I remember I used to be proud of myself that I was good at school, but I know the truth and I see no future in myself anymore. Those who did not like school have gone further than me, but I never gave up hope. I cried myself to sleep every night and sometimes now also, but I know that Allah hears.

After some months, I heard that there is a medical class that will begin next week; but I have don't have the grades( in October I checked, and I was near 200 and something). The only way it is possible is if someone declines or no shows the first school day, then the school will offer it to other students on waiting lists. I hope that they will contact me, but I do not know why I'm so scared! It's the only thing I want to study. I want my parents to smile and know that they smile because of me. Is there some dua I can do or something I can read so they will contact me? Please do dua for me, I am desperate- it's next week.

  1. Do you trust that Allah has a plan for you?

If you do, then just relax , take a deep breath and know whatever s meant to be will be.

If you get in, great. If you don't, you will figure something out,....it's not the end of the world not getting into med school.

Wish you all the best no matter what you do in life.

  2. Wasalam, muslim 14,

If you have gotten your goal, congratulations, you may not want to read this. If you haven´t and you want to read this, I would like to share the following with you.

Reading your post seemed to me I was the one that wrote it, I went through the same struggles many years ago and I ended studying Biology to jump to Medicine, after the first year, but it didn´t function either, I went through more struggles and, at the end, I learnt what was really important, that was to be happy and enjoy what I have instead of being misserable for what I didn´t have . God´s willing, you will learn this by yourself at the right time, but here I go, I hope you don´t get mad at me, if you do, please forgive me.

Now, what it is making you so desperate it is the fact of failing to your parents and you feel very guilty and embarrased, you need to tell the truth to your parents, they deserve to know it and you deserve to learn that they love you unconditionally despite any external circumstance that surrounds you, you are the most important treassure for them, you are their jewel, and you deserve to know that their biggest love is YOU. They know about your efforts to make real your dreams and they have made theirs your dreams to give you support and to be for you, but always remember that they will be for you whatever you study or whatever happens because their love is unconditional.

Please listen to this carefully. You are the most important. Please, you need to release that pressure from you, you deserve their support, please don´t deny that to yourself and to them, let them be for you by your side, they know you and they can help you to find new open gates to cross. We say in my country: "The man propose and God dispose" and I can tell you faithfully that this is the way it is, and the best of all that it is always for our best, thank God, even when sometimes it is hard to accept.

Insha´Allah you will learn to see and identify obstacles or changes in your life´s agenda as opportunities to get something better or just to polish something that is causing you troubles consciously or not, when you get to understand this, you will feel free from Heart and won´t see any obstacle like a source of guilt or pain beyond their right meassure, and this will guide you, step by step, to get what you came to do in this life.

Be honest to yourself, your family and to the world, insha´Allah this will lift the weight you are carry in your shoulders and your heart.

Be open to new dreams, insha´Allah this way you will see open doors and windows that you never saw before.

If the others get their dreams without efforts, try to be happy for them, feel your Heart with their happiness as yours, insha´Allah this way, bad whispers won´t have a place in your Heart.

Please give the people you love and loves you the opportunity to be for you when you need them, to have people that loves and care about us is one of the biggest blessings I can count, thank God.

Thank you for listening to me.

    God knows best.

May God guides you to your best. Ameen.

Lots and lots of peace and unconditional love,

    María M
