Ex daughter-law living with ex-father in-law…
As salaamualaikum, If a husband and wife are divorced is it harram that the ex wife continues to live in the ex father in-law's house? Keep in mind that the ex husband does NOT live in the home.

logically speaking, when she was married the father-in law was mahram, but after that relationship is over with the husband then the father in law would automatically becomes non-mahram
im not an expert but with the rule of Islam, this makes logical sense to me.
you may refer to sheikh for more solid info.
Allah knows best,
As-salamu Alaykum,
According to the following article, a father-in-law is a permanent mahram, even if the couple gets divorced:

I don't have any particular advice for this individual since we don't know the details...but it's not necessarily as strange as it might initially sound. I can think of valid reasons as to why someone might want to remain in her father-in-law's home, including safety and stability for the woman and her children.
Whether it is actually okay (or even desirable) to remain in this situation for a prolonged period of time, however, I don't really know.
Who else is living in the house? Does your wife work in the area?
