Please sign petition calling for British Government to give Babar Ahmad his civil rights
Assalaamu alaikum brothers and sisters,
I am sure many of you have heard of Babar Ahmad, who has been held in the UK for 7 years without trial!
Please, please if you are a British citizen or resident, sign the e-petition, which calls on the British government to either free him, or give him a fair trial according to the law. This is something every human being should be entitled to.
100,000 signatures are needed before the 11th November to be eligible for parlimentary debate. So far, sadly there are not even 50,000. Compare this to the size of our Ummah in Britain, it is very saddening.
As Muslims we should not be scared to stand up to injustice, and we should strive to help our brothers and sisters (in both Islam and humanity) against injustice. We will have to answer to Allah for those we could have helped, but chose not to.
Please do sign the petition if you can, it only takes a few minutes to sign and verify your email address. Even if your not a British citizen you can make a difference. We all can. Please forward onto friends and family and encourage others to do the same. There is no age limit on who can sign.

More information is provided below and this video is very inspirational.
What if it was your brother?
Babar Ahmad is a British Citizen who has been detained in the UK for 7 years without trial fighting extradition to the USA under the controversial no-evidence-required Extradition Act 2003. In June 2011, the Houses of Parliament, Joint Committee on Human Rights urged the UK government to change the law so that Babar Ahmad’s perpetual threat of extradition is ended without further delay. Since all of the allegations against Babar Ahmad are said to have taken place in the UK, we call upon the British Government to put him on trial in the UK and support British justice for British citizens.
May Allah swt help every person who is the victim of injustice and oppression. Ameen

Jazakallahu khairun for posting this on this forum. I hope everyone here from UK will sign it; it only takes like two minutes dear brothers and sisters. Do your obligation, its ur obligation to help ur Muslim brother here. Not charity!
Salaam.
i have signed it , you should too!
Asalaam u alikum,
I don't know anyone from Britain. However, I would advice you to make a Facebook group on this issue...maybe you will receive more replies through the group. Just a thought.
May Allah shower His mercy on the rightly guided (Ameen)
Sister ayesha705, alhamdulillah many facebook groups have been made for the brother.
The only thing lacking is a little concern from the 2 million muslims living in Britian. *sigh*
Muslims in the britain should be more than 2 mollion. Look at d rate at which people are reverting to islam day by day, and the rate of immigrant from muslim countries.,
I read about this somewhere else, I don't quite remember where and I tried signing it until I realized it's only for British citizens and I don't live in the UK. This is so unfortunate and just goes to show the hypocrisy Western government’s display when fair trial is for all human begins, regardless of race or religion. It's a human right, not a religious or cultural right.
I truly hope everyone who is from the UK and is a British citizen signs this. I can but imagine the pain this man must be going through but still having that ounce of hope that maybe our Muslim ummah will help him.
May Allah swt make it easier for this man and give him immense patience and reward for this test he's undergoing, ameen.

done! 🙂
Done it 🙂
so its only for britons to sign it huh?
Unfortunately it is only for British citizens or those who have got residency within Britain for 6 or more months. I agree it sucks, but there is little we can do on that except encourage British citizens to sign it. Ultimately we are all responsible to help one another. So if are not a British citizen and you know them, then encourage your British friends to sign and encourage your friends to encourage their friends to encourage their friends. And so on. Make it a chain.
