Gussal for drops of semen?
Assalam-o-Alaikum!
I am 24 years old, and I want to know something. When we masturbate, or whenever Aitlam happens to us while sleeping, then we do 'GUSSAL'beacause it's farz. I have the problem that whenever I think of something wrong or see wrong things without masturbation, a few drops (1-2) come out while in the process of thinking of bad things and this is normal. My question to you is, is there any need for GUSSAL in that situation when there is no masturbation and no Aitlam?
Kindly tell me as soon as possible.

Salaams,
I am not a male, but from everything I can recall reading about this issue (and the men can confirm or correct this as needed), there is no ghusl needed for just a few drops of sperm coming out without orgasm or full ejaculation. You will, however, need to renew your wudu if you need to pray after it happens, and also you will need to wash any affected areas on your clothing before praying as well.

Doesn't it depend on the type of excretion , it's type, color and smell; or is that not the case for males!
Normally there is production of pre-ejaculatory fluid, that is clear, colorless, viscous fluid that acts as a lubricant during Intercourse
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-ejaculate
Ejaculation releases semen that is normally white to light grey. Some time the color is yellowish due to deitary factors.

Don't know much about smell, foul smell may indicate some kind of infection.
Yes , The sister is right ,
As a man i know gusal is necessary at some stage, such as if Atilam or if anyone do masturbation than its necessary for him to do gusal and if a person thinks bad and he intends to do such masturbation than to he have to do gusal and he doesn't and he want's to offer Namaz than his namaz will not be fruitful till he doesn't do Gusal.
You can review Iman Bukhari first edition for this purpose.

Salaams,
So you are saying that if someone intends to masturbate, but doesn't, they still have to perform ghusl? That doesn't sound familiar to me. I'm assuming that if someone doesn't masturbate or climax or ejaculate, they wouldn't need a ghusl. I'm thinking of the hadith that says if someone intends to do a wrong thing, but doesn't do it and avoids the sin, he is rewarded for it. If that's the case, what's to purify if no wrong action took place?

Ass Salam o Allaykum,
My intention is that at every occasion weather a person intend to do masturbation or do such, then on both occasion he have to do Gussal, its compulsory, with out Gussal he cannot preform Namaz. I didn't say that Gussal is not compulsory, it is Compulsoryy at all ....is that much clear enough.

Sayeed
Salaams,
you said " weather a person intend to do masturbation OR do such", to me this means you feel a ghusl is required based off an intention even if the action isn't carried out. I don't see anyone agreeing with that position so far.
There is a vast difference between what one intends to do, and what actually is is done.

Amy please also refer this yaar. Dont be panic and try to read Quran n Sunnah and Ahadees.
Please see following!
The Standing Committee was asked about the emission of a single drop of semen as the result of desire. They replied as follows:
If the semen is comes out gushing as the result of desire, this means that ghusl is required even if what comes out is just one drop, and without intercourse. Wudoo’ is not sufficient, rather what is required is ghusl from janaabah. Fataawa al-Lajnah, 5/202.
See also questions no. 12317 and 6010.
Secondly:
If intercourse takes place, then ghusl becomes obligatory even if there is no ejaculation, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When the two circumcised parts meet and the tip of the penis disappears, then ghusl becomes obligatory, whether ejaculation takes place or not.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 379.

AMY: there is no ghusl needed for just a few drops of sperm coming out without orgasm or full ejaculation.
I think you may be mistaking pre ejeculatory fluid with few drops of sperms.
Sperms are released as semen. Semen does not come out as drops, it comes as spurts. As explained below ejeculation can't be stopped once it has started.
The typical orgasm consists of 10 to 15 contractions, although the man is unlikely to be consciously aware of that many. Once the first contraction has taken place, ejaculation will continue to completion as an involuntary process. At this stage, ejaculation cannot be stopped.
Assalaamu Alaykum,
I do understand the distinction you're making, but it is important to note that there are sperm present in pre-ejaculatory fluids- enough so to cause a pregnancy.

We have other sources we have the ulmas to ask about this
But when semen comes out, then ghusl is obligatory, even if what comes out is just one drop.
No ghusal is compulsory Amy.
This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) connected ghusl to seeing and the gushing of semen, as he said: “If you see water (semen)” and “if water (semen) gushes out then do ghusl.” So the ruling does not apply otherwise. Al-Mughni, 1/128.
Please guide the people under the light of Quran and Sunnah and Ahadees. Dont put you own comments and suggestions.
First always take the guide from Quran then Sunnah then Ahadees.
Please reply if I am wrong.
A friend of mine narrated a Hadith, where Madhy ( as its called) if it comes out, wudhu need be performed only.
As Sis Amy says, a full ejaculation warrants ghusl. That includes wet dreams.
Try not to fantasize about sexual encounters..lol we men are guilty of it but it causes long term harm of becoming too perverted too soon and the inclination of performing this act outside of marriage increases.
Hope that helps
Kind regards
Ahmed.
Assalaamu 'Alaikum
First of all we should distinguish the different types of fluids which come out of the make private part.
1) The first is mazi (pre-seminal fluid). This is a clear thin fluid which comes out when one gets excited and it only arouses the pleasure and desires of a person. The discharge of this fluid only breaks the wudhu
2) Mani (seminal fluid). This is a thick white fluid which comes at the climax of a person's desires or at the point of ejaculation due to arousal. After the discharge of this fluid the desires of a male regress and diminish. The discharge if this fluid necessitates a complete ghusl which is obligatory (fardh) in order for one to become pure
3) Wadi. This fluid is similar to mani but comes out due to some sickness or due to exertion. The discharge of this fluid only breaks wudhu
The fluid in reference to your question seems to be mazi therefore no ghusl would be required. If you feel it might not be mazi but rather mani based on the description then let me know because there are other conditions which need to be fulfilled in order for a ghusl to become waajib at the time of the discharge of mani. And Allah knows best

AsSalaamu Alaikum Brother Wael
I think my comment is not posting. When I tried again it said, "Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!"

AsSalaamu Alaikum Brother Wasee,
What you are talking about seems to be a prostatic fluid (al-mazi/al-madhy), and therefore it requires ONLY ablution after washing your organ (i.e. no Ghusl needed in your case), as Sister Amy, Brother AhmedAAZA and Brother Shiblee have pointed out, and as it's stated in the Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
Hazrat 'Ali (Radiyallahu 'Anhu) reported:
(Sahih Muslim 303)
Narrated Hazrat `Ali (Radiyallahu 'Anhu):
(Sahih al-Bukhari 269)
Agreed with SISTER AMY-1st comment.Thank you sister.
really I don't know more about this case but majority of the brothers said there is no ghusl
Salaam i wake in the morning and sometimes see few drops water marks and see that when i touch it slight sticky. Would i need to perform ghusal or wudu. Abit confused.

Asad - what is this style "Yaar". Is having a woman as youer yaar ok in Islam? In a public forum, your duialogue needs to be appropriate and yours is really odd towards a sister.
