Hajat prayers

I was praying and reciting surah yasin and other surahs for a particular hajat and this morning I came to know that my hajat was not fulfilled. Now, what should I do, should I keep reciting the surahs as I had niyyat to recite for 40days and had only 10days comoleted or should I stop my recitation.

    asalam alaikum, i dont believe what you are doing is sunnah, the 40 days bit that is. It's best that whatever acts of worship you choose to do was what our Prophet SAW did. I would advise to pray Tahajjud instead as this has authentic references.
