How to deal with zina?

Alsalamu alykum

I recently found out my father had an affair and cheated on my mother. I am 17 years old and I don't know what to do. I was so shocked because they seem so happy in front of me. My father prays and fasts and he is an honest and fair man (or so I thought). I don't understand why he would do this. My mother loves him very much and she treats him with care and love. I don't know what to do. I feel like I can't tell anyone. I don't want my family to be ruined but at the same time I don't want my mother to live a lie and with a person like that. She deserves way better than this and so do I.

  1. Wallah if you love your mother than u should tell her. On my opinion in wouldn't keep such a horrible thing from my mom. Never. Tell her

  2. Do you have any evidence that it was an affair?

  3. Unless you have witnessed this or know with 100% certainty, you should not assume anything. Every person has secret sins, and they are directed by Allah not to expose these sins, even zina!

Furthermore, how do you know that your mother does not already know, and that he and your mother have dealt with this issue and moved past it? If she does know, will you make it more difficult for her to remain with your father because she knows you are aware of his abhorrent behavior?

In any case, Allah shall be the wise and most merciful judge. Do not take Allah's place as a judge. If you are unjust in your accusations and judgement, Allah may judge you with the same standard you judge others.
