I am divorced and want to marry

ASA everyone

I am from karachi. I got divorced ( took khulah ) 2 months back. My marriage stayed for 4 years long and we didnt have kids. He was diagnosed as an Asperger and things were very bad between us. I never loved him. It was a very bad journey but I am happy that its over now 🙂

Now I am talking to this guy who used to be in my university. He is not interested in any kind of relationship. We talk very randomly.. I am pretty scared as I feel the label on me now and this society doesn't let you live. I have seen alot of ups and downs in my life already and I want to stay happy now. I have continued my studies and I am working in a reputed institution as well. I am on my feet.

Can i ask someone hand in marriage being a girl, divorced and at the age of 25. I feel inclined to my friend or you think its too early to get into another relationship. My family is all okay if I bring them someone up for marriage and all but here I am lost as anyone can ever be. I have no idea how this person will react although I am giving our friendship all the time it needs to go to the next level. We talk very randomly but i know he a good person and a good family background. Also my previous marriage was a core arranged marriage and I dont think I'll get proposals now.

Thanks

  1. Assalamualaykum Ayesha_1,

If you want to get married and know that you want to, I don't think you necessarily have to wait. As far as how to approach the brother about it, do you and he have any mutual contacts? Does your family have any connections with his, or would someone in your family or friendship circle be willing to help? Maybe it would be easier to approach him through someone else.

If things don't progress with this prospect, please try not to worry too much, if possible. I know there are societal pressures and labeling, but if you can, try to let them slide off your back like water on oil (that's an analogy a friend of mine just gave me to cope with environmental stress) We do the best we can. Allah will surely provide for you, as He created you. Alhamdulillah you are blessed with a career and living...I am so happy for you in that regard.

May Allah ease things for you,

    Nor

  2. Salam,

If you think you're ready you should ask. If he says no, don't take it to personally and try someone else.

If he is not interested in any kind of relationship why you want him? If you meet someone who wants relationship with you there is no harm in leading him to direction of marriage.
