I have some questions about dua

Dua hands with water drops, dua', duaa

Dua'

Salam,

I have some questions about dua that I am confused about because of different opinions I have read online and I would like to go with what the prophet PBUH did. I HATE that everything is soooo confusing nowadays, soo many different opinions! Please see my questions below:

I know when we make dua to Allah we are suppose to praise Him and our Prophet PBUH, do we need to do this in Sujjud as well or is this only when we lift our hands? Or even when we make random dua through out the day. My second question is can we make ANY dua we want in the sitting position after two rakaats, that is between the "Ata hi a tu and the Darood ( allahumma sullay)? This would include dua from the Quran and dua in my own words. My third and last question is, after the fard prayer I like to sit and make dua to Allah but I do not raise my hands because it's not recommended to, now I have read that you are not suppose to ask Allah with the back of your hands (in my case my hands are on my laps) so now I am not sure. I would really appreciate any advise, insha'Allah. JZK.

Also, I am from Toronto, I would really like to learn more about the religion esp. on every day things that I do but there are not really any diploma courses or anything in Toronto nearby, I use the TTC and dont drive so it's even MORE difficult. If anyone knows of anything Downtown, please let me know. I would refer in class lessons vs. online, unless there is a webinar with a live person that you can actually speak to and ask questions.

  1. Salama Alykom.
1- doing sujod you can make Duaa the way you want. You dont have to follow certain rules or ways. Remember Allah looks at ur heart more than ur words.

2-througt the day is the same thing. But its preferablypreferable to prais.

3-best time to make duaa is in sojudd. Thie time is when you are closest to Allah as the prohet PBUH mentioned is hishadith.

4- its preferable if you raise your hand at this timetime but its not a must for Allah to accept ur duaa. And the proof for that is the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Your Lord is modest and concealing, and He too shy, if His slave raises his hands to Him for them to come back to him empty.”

5- Masjed toronto hosts many events and lectues specially in the weekend. You can check the website for more details. Also Shaikh Yasir Alkadi will be doing some lectures this weekend inTorono I dont have the link for the event now but u can look it up.

May Allah guide you and help you. Ameen.
    Any questions let me know

  2. SALAM .AS A REVERT FOR 30YRS AND MARRIED TO WOMEN SCHOLOR I MUST WARN YOU THAT PEOPLE ON THESE CHATS CAN COME FROM DIFFERENT TEACHINGS OF ISLAM.WE DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE SECT OF SHIA OR PEOPLE WHO HAVE KNOW TRUE I'M OR GUIDANCE SO THERE OPIONS ARE GUESS WORK! AS LONG AS YOU ARE A SUNNI MUSLIM AND FOLLOW 1 OF THE 4 MAJOR SCHOOLS OF THOUGHTS AND MASTER IT.THIS WILL KEEP YOU ON THE STRAIGHT PATH. BOOKS(HADITHS) THAT ARE AUTHENTIC SUCH AS SAHIH MUSLIM SAHIH AL BUKHARI RIYADH US SALEEN ARE SOME . DUAS IS WEAPON OF A BELIEVER PROVIDED THAT HE KEEPS AWAY FROM ALL SORTS OF HARAM AND OBEYS ALLAH'S COMMANDMENTS AND TEACHINGS OF MUHAMMAD PBUH. IF YOU LOOKING TO PRAY SALAT CORRECTLY MOST OF THE MADRESSAH WILL USE TAHMEEL HAQ.THIS WILL GIVE YOU THE BASICS WHICH IS VERY SIMPLE AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND.JUST GO TO ISLAMIC STORE..AND ASK..! BE CAREFUL OF THE PEOPLE YOU ASSOCIATE.I KNOW THAT THE AMADIYA COMMUNITY IS BIG AND THEY CONFUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE.IF YOU ARE CONFUSED ABOUT ALL THESE NAMES AND GROUPS JUST GOOGLE AND RESEARCH EVERYTHING. FIND YOUR LOCAL SUNNI MOSQUE AND BE CONNECTED WITH THE PEOPLE AND GET INVOLVED.THIS IS A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR YOU. THERE SOME GREAT SCHOLORS WHO ARE INVOLVED IN TABLIGH JAMAAT . DUAS ARE SAID ANYWHERE ANYTIME AND THERE ARE SPECIAL TIMES THAT ARE GOOD.AFTER EVERY FARDZ SALAH TAHAJUD THE NGHT PRAYER WHEN YOU ARE SICK A FATHER OR MOTHER TO HIS HER CHILD A SON DAUGHTER TO THERE PARENTS.YES THERE IS THE 40 RABANAS THAT WE USE AFTER DUROOD IBRAHIM IN SALAH. BUT THE DUA AFTER SALAH IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. When I cry in the late night prayer it is some people's habit to go in sujood and cry and repent with humility. ...Don't burden yourself or think to hard Deen is easy .Don't let people make it confusing.Questions should only be asked to scholors who spent years in learning these problems and conditions to teach the people that's why there Alima and Alims

  3. I saw you alredy has been answered by Mohamed Ahmed.

May you could also enjoy give a look here:

The best times to make a Dua:

  4. Wa'alaikumsalam

You can make dua anytime you wanted, and better in the best time such as:
    - the last 1/3 in the night (in a hadist written, Allah comes day everyday in 1/3 night and there are no barrier between dua and Allah, so the dua easily heard and comes true)
    - when raining (in a hadist written, rain shows Allah is giving rahmat)
    - when the chicken koek (based on a hadist, chicken koek means he is seeing an angel, so if you make dua, may the angel make "aamiin" for you).
    - In the last sujud (because the distance between you and Allah swt in the closest distance)
    - In the sitting position of tahiyatul akhir
    - after praying
    - in Dhuha time
    - when you are making a journey (in travel)
    - before iftar (breaking fast)
    - if people hurting you (without any right)

In another hadeeth state that our prophet SAW Always make shalat (2 rakaat) if he is in problem (it's not the 5 times prayer) - it shows you can make a pray anytime except in the haram times (between subuh until the Dhuha time (around 3 minutes before Dhuha time), and between asr to maghrib (around 3 minutes before maghrib time).

So there are not one way one time only (to make dua), but more...
and you can choose one - two - three or apply them all.

    Raising hands:
In one of hadeeth written - "if a moslem raise his hands, look at the sky and make dua, Allah will put xxxx (forget) in his hands"

Another hadeeth written "I saw Muhammad saw make dua, he raise his hands above till I can see the white of his armpit"

About "back of your hands" I never heard about it - it probably comes from a weak hadeeth.

It's better to have a teacher - I suggest you to look a scholar (graduated) from Al-Azhar university (doesn't matter is it in Egypt, or India)

    they've learn a lot.

And Al- azhar university is the only Islamic scholar we have (after we had Cordoba as the center of education in the world - in the time of Khalifah - owned by moslems)

    ***
I'd like to help you if you like.
Im not a scholar, but thanks to Allah, He meet me to people who study about Islam (have knowledge), so I can ask and learn lots from them.

and i'd loved to share them.
    ***
About different opinion happened between the scholars - normally that caused by their knowledge about hadeeth (how many hadeeth they knew and what is the status of the hadeeth they are used: is it trusted, weak, or fake)

But all schollars try their best to understand and pick information up from Allah swt, Muhammad saw and his best friends - using them as live guide book and to perform the best pray performance..

If you are confuse - I suggest you to use hadeeth Bukhari at the most without neglecting another hadeeth.
