I lied about a dream.
I lied about having a dream to someone. I told them I saw a dream about them. The dream I made up was a good one. For them to believe good tidings will come their way islamicly. I didn' have bad intentions. I wanted to be in touch with the person again and thought the dream would be a good topic for them to speak to me. But after I told them the good dream I felt bad. I realized they believe it and are happy for good things to happen. I pray in my heart good things do happen to that person and that they become good Muslim but I feel like a hypocrite. But now I just found out telling a false dream is one of the biggest sins told my Allah and our beloved Prophet.
I' scared and want to fix this. I want to do tauba. What is the right tauba or dua to make for telling a false dream. Insh Allah I will never do it again. I did not know how bad this was. May Allah accept my repentance. Please can anyone tell me what is the dua or what to do after telling a false dream.

Assalam O Alaikum wa rahmatullai wa barakatuh. Allah will forgive you insha Allah, that is, if he hasn't already. I'm sure he has already accepted your repentance, sweetie. ❤
From what I know, if you do a sin out of ignorance; that is, if you aren't aware it's a sin then you are totally excused. So lying ABOUT A DREAM wasn't something you knew is extremely haram. However, lying is a grave sin too, no matter what the lie is about. Even if Allah has forgiven you for this sin, you don't need to sin again to find a reason to seek Allah's forgiveness and recite duas for forgiveness. Did you know, our prophet SAW used to recite Astaghfirullah more than 70 times a day? The man who was guaranteed jannah! The one Quran was revealed upon! The only perfect man to live. Subhan Allah.
You can recite the following duas whenever you want, here's the dua hazrat Adam recited upon sinning: Rabanna zwalamna aaon fu'sana wa ilam taghfir lama wa tar hamna lanna Ko nana minal khasirin. (O Allah, we have wronged ourselves and if you do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.)
Here's a dua our beloved messenger SAW used to often recite: Rabb ighfir li wa tubb ‘alayya, innaka anta al-tawab al-raheem (Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful).
You can just search on google 'duas for forgiveness' and you'll find so many results. I saved this one for the last because this dua is one which everyone should know by heart. Also, I am pasting it along with a message it came with: *What’s the difference between Maghfirah (مغفرة ) and 'Afuw (عفو )?*
*Maghfirah*: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin but the sin will still be registered on your book of deeds. Maghfirah is Allah’s forgiveness for your sin but on the Judgment Day it will be written on your record, Allah will ask you about it but HE won’t punish you because of it
*'Afuw*: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin and delete it from your book of deeds as if it did not happen. ‘Afuw is Allah’s pardon for your sin, it will be completely erased from your record and Allah won’t ask you about it on Judgement day
*This is why our Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that, this is the best Duaa to make on Laylatul Qadr:*
*"Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annee"*
(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi)
*O Allah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and You love to pardon, so pardon me.)"*
So make sure you read this dua all the time and as much as you can. Make it one of your daily athkaar.
Imagine that you are standing on the day of Judgment being held accountable for your deeds, and you're not guaranteed your entry to Jannah.
*Suddenly you find that you have mountains of Hasanat (rewards) in your record*
Do you know from where these mountains of rewards come from?
Because in the Dunya you kept saying : *”SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi SubhanAllah al ‘Adhim”*
_Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:_ *"Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, they are loved by Al Rahman, (The Most Merciful. One):*
سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ ، سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ الْعَظِيمِ - *SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi, Subhan-Allahi 'l-`adheem (Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme)"*
(Bukhari , Muslim)
Can you imagine how much your reward will be multiplied if you share this information about the virtue of this remembrance with your friends and they keep saying it *(SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi SubhanAllah Al Adheem)* because you guided them to do good?
*Be the One Who Guides Others to Good Deeds.*
May Allah make you successful in both this World and the hereafter. Ameen.
PS: Please say thank you in full form - Jazak Allahu khairan.
I used to say jazak Allah too until I realized it wasn't really the right phrase. Here's a bit of copy paste:
Jazaak comes from the root word jazaa' (جزاء) which according to the popular Arabic-English dictionary, Al-Mawrid, has two meanings that are completely opposite to each other! Thus jazaa' (جزاء) can either mean reward OR punishment.
So :"JazakAllah" can may either mean "may Allah reward you" or "may Allah punish you", while "JazakAllah Khair" means ... "may Allah reward you with the Best / Good".
