Islamic marriage advice and family advice

I need a door opened to me.

girl praying,

Asalam-o-Alaikum,

I don't know how to start this, but it just starts with my education.  I'm a good student and have always been really nice, but since my uni tests started I feel zawal on myself. I really work hard but get nothing in results.  This left me feeling depressed and I have started hating myself.

I would admit though,  I feel left alone to myself.  Allah Almighty has always helped me in circumtances of all sorts. I won't say He didn't do good to me or anything like that.  He is my Malik, He has a right to do whatever with my life. But as my exams have gone I didn't get admissions anywhere. All my collegues got admissions and are happy and excited, but when I see this and my own condition I feel hurt deep inside of my heart.

However I pose myself as strong- yet I feel I'm the one left alone. I'm the one who never deserved success in life. I don't know where I lacked- I worked hard and prayed, and while crying I asked for good,  but I feel I have done such miserable acts that my prayers have no effect left in them.

I have cried a lot, and now I'm just left depressed.  I feel no door calling me. I feel empty. I still ask Allah for better,  but why I'm not getting it I don't know.  It's a hard task to have patience; it's really hard to face the ones who expect from me.

What should I do? I don't know. I just want Allah to open a door for me. I never leave prayers as I'm afraid if I left Allah, I will then have nothing. When He is with me I still feel hope.

  2. When Prophet Musa was travelling with Al-Khadir that we are told about in Surat-Al-Kahf. When Prophet Musa(as) was travelling with Al-Khadir (who commentators say was an angel in the form of a man), he learned that things are often not what they may seem, and that the wisdom of Allah cannot always be understood from the surface.
Al-Khadir and Prophet Musa(as) came upon a town where Al-Khadir began to damage the boats of the people who lived there.

On the surface, this action would seem to have been harmful to the poor owners of the boats. However, Al-Khadir later explains that he was in fact protecting the people, and saving the boats for them.
Allah tells us in the Quran (Al-Khadir) said, 'This is parting between me and you. I will inform you of the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience. As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who seized every (good) boat by force'.

In damaging the boats, Al-Khadir was actually protecting the people by making the boats undesirable to the king who had been seizing them by force. And sometimes in life, that's Exactly what happens.

In order to save us, something is taken away from us, or given to us in a way we don't want. And yet to us--it only looks like a closed door.

  4. Depression is going to hold you back from achieving your full potenial. You need to exercise and possibly jog to feel good. Don't quit, be persistent.

Abraham Lincoln (a former US President) Didn't Quit

If you want to learn about somebody who didn't quit, look no further.

Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.

He didn't quit, he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of USA.
Lincoln was a champion and he never gave up.

  5. "And whosoever fears Allah (S.W) and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah (S.W), then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah (S.W) will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah (S.W) has set a measure for all things." (Surah at-Talaq:2-3)

    Salam Sister/Brother,
I have been in your shoes so many times, I was desperate to see a light. I was feeling bad about myself, giving up, and then I realize than any hardship that you encounter is a test to your faith, an opportunity to have some of your sins erased, and more importantly it is Allah (S.W) saving you something better. We all want success in this life (sometimes we even forget about the more important life) but let's try to trust Allah (S.W). Let's put our hope in His hands because He knows best. Do your part, work hard, try whatever is in your power but leave everything in his hands. Stay focus and be grateful for all He has done for you, He will make a way when you least expect it and a way you could not imagine. Keep praying brother/sister. I have been in your shoes and I am currently going through my own issues but now I have learned to do my best, and leave everything in my Creator's hand.
May Allah (S.W) make it easy for you.

It was narrated that Suhayb said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for all his affairs are good, and this applies to no one except the believer. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks, and that is good for him, and it something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him.”(Narrated by Muslim, 2999)
This world should not be the main concern of the Muslim. Worry about his provision should not find any room in his heart or mind, lest that make his sickness and his anxiety worse.
It was narrated that Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Whoever is mainly concerned about the Hereafter, Allaah will make him feel independent of others and will make him focused and content, and his worldly affairs will fall into place.
But whoever is mainly CONCERNED WITH THE WORLD-, Allaah will make him feel in constant need of others and will make him distracted and unfocused, and he will get nothing of this world except what is decreed for him.”
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2389; classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 6510).
    REMEDY FOR DEPRESSION AND WORRIES
The scholars of Islaam have extracted from the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah many remedies and cures to help us in our daily affairs and remove our problems.
    1. It was reported that the Prophet (PBUH) used to recite this Dua:

    اللّهُـمَّ رَحْمَتَـكَ أَرْجـوفَلا تَكِلـني إِلى نَفْـسي طَـرْفَةَ عَـيْن، وَأَصْلِـحْ لي شَأْنـي كُلَّـه لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أنْـت
“O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blinking of an eye (i.e. a moment). Correct all of my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship but You.” (Abu Dawud 4/324, Ahmad 5/42. Al-Albani graded it as good in Sahih Abu Dawud 3/959.)
    2. In al-Saheehayn it was reported from Ibn ‘Abbaas that the Messenger of Allaah (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say, when he felt distressed:

“There is no god except Allaah, the All-Mighty, the Forbearing; there is no god except Allaah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne; there is no god except Allaah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth and Lord of the noble Throne.” (Al-Bukhari 8/154, Muslim 4/2092, )
    3. It was reported from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say, when something upset him:
“Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoom, bi Rahmatika astagheeth (O Ever-Living One, O Everlasting One, by Your mercy I seek help).”
    4. It was reported that Asmaa’ bint ‘Umays (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to me:
“Shall I not teach you some words to say when you feel distressed?

    اللهُ اللهُ رَبِّ لا أُشْـرِكُ بِهِ شَيْـئاً
‘Allaah, Allaah, Rabbee laa ushriku bihi shay’an’Allaah, Allaah, my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him (Abu Dawud 2/87. See also Al-Albani, Sahih Ibn Majah 2/335.)
    5. It was reported from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No person suffers any anxiety or grief, and says:

‘Allaahumma innee ‘abduka wa ibn ‘abdika wa ibn amatika, naasiyati bi yadika, maadin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka, as’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw ista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghaybi ‘andak an taj’ala al-Qur’aana rabee’ qalbi wa noor sadri wa jalaa’a huzni wa dhahaaba hammi’
“O Allaah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your female slave, my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every Name belonging to You which You named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur’aan the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety”
but Allaah will take away his sorrow and grief, and give him in their stead joy.” (Ahmad 1/391
