Islamic marriage advice and family advice

I want to marry a younger Muslim man

I am from Hindu family. I have already loved one Hindu boy but we are mutually separated. Now I am in love with a Muslim boy who was once my student. We have seven years age difference. He knows about my previous love and he also had a love failure, now we both love each other. Now can we get married? I am ready to convert to Islam as I like the religion when he says about it and I also believe in Allah and prophet's preachings. We are afraid of our parents and society. We want to get married and lead a peaceful life as Muslims.

  1. Assalaamu Alaykum,

I am not sure how old you are, but if you are referring as these two males as "boys" it makes me wonder if you are pretty young yourself. If you are (for example) in your early to mid 20's, then being romantically involved with even a boy 7 years younger than you would be considered a form of pedophilia. That, of course, is unnatural and alarming.

I earnestly suggest that if you are serious about converting to Islam, to go ahead and do it and start practicing for your sake. Not to marry someone. Your existence here on earth is ultimately between you and your Creator, and that's why you should be seeking a means of nearness to Him through Islam. Whatever Allah has in store for you and your love life will be made known at its proper time, but the order of priority is to first give your life to Him and start learning/practicing Islam for yourself.
