Is flirting with other women haraam and a sin?

flirt

I have seen men where I live in the west winking, calling others "babe" "sweetheart" and more.
Example: "hi, sweetheart." When talking to the store clerk or ordering food from a woman you never met. Is it haram and a sin?

  1. Obviously , in islam it's 's haram. Allah ordered us to not go to near to fahaashi and talk to the point and be straight forward with non mehrums . Calling non mehrums as sweetheart and babe is a flirt and thus a sin . Small sins can lead to bigger ones.

  2. Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatu,

Yes, this is haram and a sin. If these are Muslims, I encourage you to remind them politely that what they're doing is wrong and they should refrain from this type of behavior. Islamically, we are required to enjoin good and forbid evil, using wisdom. May Allah (swt) guide us all, Ameen.

  3. As-salamu Alaykum,

It is a sin (as explained by Samiya) and can also be a form of harassment. Even if they smile or laugh, the truth is that a lot of women find such interactions demeaning and do not enjoy it when customers cross the line with their language.

  4. it is bad

  5. This is for the admins as i don't know where else to contact them.
I have posted my question like two weeks ago and its still pending. when will it get posted?

  6. i remember the shaykh use to talk about the some brothers and sisters using the word asalamualaykum in a way to attract the other sex, first of all you need to check yourself i mean really check yourself what is your intention of saying asalamualaykum you see there are alogt of brothers who say the salaam to women and when it comes to a brother then he grunts and walks away, this is complete and utterly satanic he is clearly lusting after the woman and he is only saying the salaam for all the wrong reasons. i think it is ok to say things like love as yes we do love the common man we do not want them to go to the hellfire we love our neighbours and we love our brothers and sisters and we want to call them to islaam.,, but if you start saying babe then clearly you have other intentions, someone older may say babe to someone younger this is perfectly permissible but if they are older than them then adaab is clearly at the forefront of your mind....
