Islam makes me feel lost and scared

Iron gate and bright clouds, future, possibilities

´

Assalam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu,

I converted to Islam about 4 years ago alhamdulillah. My decision was completly based on my mind, my rational thoughts. In my heart i did not really like Islam as a religion, and it made me very scared. When I started praying however I felt really good, and felt peace in my heart. The problem is that especially the last 2 years whenever I read about Islam it makes me feel so scared and lose hope that i will ever go to heaven. For example I read about the bad eye, then I read you can´t really do much about it because you can give someone the bad eye unintentionally. So when I am jealous I can give someone bad eye? Also, everything about jinns freaks me out and I do not read about it. Or when I read about praying or wudhu, i suddenly find out i did a small thing wrong for all that time. It just feels like it is impossible to do it right.

Many times i want to give up and go back to Christianity, so that i can believe Jesus died for my sins and I can relax again. But the thing what holds me back is that I do feel that Islam is the truth, more than Christianity, and I have to follow that. So now I made a deal with myself to just stop trying to read anything about Islam, cause it only makes me want to give up. Now I am only praying and focussing on my relationship with Allaah. However, I feel that this relationship is based on nothing but my own created image of Him because I do not know much about Him or Islam. Then I also read that when Allaah loves someone he gives him understanding of the religion. So what does this mean? That He hates me because I do not understand it?

I hope you can give me advice what to do.

  1. Assalam-Alaekum Bro/Sis,

MashaAllah, congratulations on coming to islam. If I understand correctly you are worried about different things in islam and mashaAllah you want to be perfect in following islam. While striving for that perfection you sometime get tired and scared and think that perhaps Christianity is fine for you because there you don't have to do anything?

You don't need to be scared about Islam. I think you should remember that Allah(s.w.t.) is 'Rehman' and 'Raheem' and He is AWESOME! :-). Allah (s.w.t.) loves his servants much more than we can imagine. One thing that is most important in islam is, whatever we do depends on our intention. If our intention is good than Allah(s.w.t) will reward us for that, and if its bad than we are answerable for that. So to your point of 'bad eye' don't worry about it, just try to control your jealousy because its important for us as muslims to clean our hearts and while I am saying this to you I have to remind myself this hadith of Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w.):

Hasad is a disease of the heart and it causes impurity to the heart, when Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) was asked who are the best of people? He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) replied: "the one with a clean heart and truthful tongue." They asked: 'We understand a truthful tongue, but what does a clean heart mean?' he answered: 'It is the heart of one that is pious, pure, and is free of sin, transgressions, hatred and Hasad." [Ibn Majah]
Also to save yourself from bad eye you can recite second last Surah from Quran Surah Falaq(113).

Coming to your point of Jinns, they are just another creature from Allah(s.w.t). There are muslims Jinns as well as non-muslims. Just remember that nothing can harm you without Allah's will. If you have this belief in your heart than you nothing to worry about.

About 'Wudhu' and 'Salah', Oh! I love you for the sake of Allah :-). This reminds me of my childhood days, when I learned to do Wudhu and heard that if you make any mistake than your Salah is not accepted. And I use to waste a lot of water :-). Then elders told me that do your best what you can without being wasteful and leave the rest on Allah(s.w.t.). We are all human beings and we are bound to make mistake. But its our good intention and good action to best of our abilities that matters. If we do 'Wudhu' according to the 'Sunnah' of prophet Muhammad(s.a.w.) then inshaAllah Allah will accept our effort.

For Salah, I am a very bad muslim, but I have heard that the more you delve into Salah the better it gets. Again the same point goes, we should not be thinking of worldly things while making "Salah", but if some worldly thought comes to your mind than reject it and refocus on Allah(s.w.t.). We should try to make a really good Salah and then leave the rest on Allah(s.w.t.), He loves you and He is the most forgiving.

To your point of not learning about Islam, don't do it. Please keep on learning about Islam. Sometimes somethings which do not make sense to me first time, I understand them after doing a bit more learning or sometimes some "Mutaqqi" person tells me where I am wrong in my understanding.

Allah (s.w.t.) tells his servants to be fearful of him and to be hopeful of his "Rahmah". Sometimes we start thinking about that parts of Islam where we think that Allah(s.w.t.) is counting everything we do and whatever mistake we make we'll be punished severely. While thinking about him being "The Subduer" and "The Just" ( some of the names of Allah) we forget about him being "The most Merciful" and "The Forgiving" one. Similarly, we as muslims cannot leave everything, by saying that "Oh! he'll forgive me so let me do whatever I want to". For such thinking we should remind ourselves that He is "The Just" and He is "The Subduer".

Bro/Sis, we should love him more than anything and he loves us back more than anybody can love us. Allah(s.w.t.) says:

On the authority of Abu Harayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said: Allah the Almighty said:

" I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me.
If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and
if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an
assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm’s length, I draw
near to him a fathom’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at
    speed."
    [Bukhari]

Please feel free to ask any other things. If something helped you please make Dua for me and if something didn't make sense then think of it as my limited knowledge and ask on the forum again, I am sure others can help you in better way.

    regards,

    • As salamu alaykum, brother Concerned,

  2. As salamu alaykum Truthseeker,

I am noone and maybe the last one that should speak about this matter, but I would like to share the following with you, if you don´t mind.

There is a deep inner unexplainable feeling that covers all the aspects of our life and makes us move towards Islam; before converting, small steps make us closer, maybe we know someone, we feel curious, we need answers we don´t get,...whatever is the reason, the fact is that without knowing it one day we cannot live without Islam, it is inside of ourselves, we get impregnated by its essence and we cannot give a step in other direction that is not getting closer to Allah.

You are in the middle way, it is normal that you feel this way, you convert due to your rational understanding that guided you towards the best you could find and that was Islam, but your Heart was out of the deal. Going deeper on it, your mind has found some believes that from a rational point of view may sound irrational, then this made the earth shake below your feet, doubts and fear, appeared as a result of this non controlable and irrational new information. More your mind knows more scared you turn to be, because your mind don´t have the control over the situation anymore, your Heart is being now the one in control, this means this situation is completely new to you, masha´Allah, you are getting to the point where complete surrender to Allah(swt) will come to your life, when your Heart will be showing you the Straight Path to Allah(swt), Alhamdulillah.

You are doing right, focusing on your salat, going to meet Him(swt) in every prayer, it is one of the most incredible and indescribable feelings we can face in this lifetime, He(swt) is there in front of us, waiting for us, isn´t this one of our biggest blessings? to have the salat to be with Him(swt).

Other ways of getting closer to Him is listening to the Quran in arabic, even if you don´t understand it, the message is received by our subconscious and it is understood by our cells, goes deep, deep on us and touches directly our Hearts. While learning arabic, every symbol has something to say, to communicate, our systems needs a time to mature, to get ready to the pure vibration that the Sacred Scriptures transmits to us and it become alive through, our day by day, conscious encounter to Allah(swt), through prayers, duas, Quran and Sunnah, Names and Attributes of our Lord, ... everyone of us has a way to approach to Allah(swt), the essence to all of us is the same, but we all need different times, different experiences, as our DNA codes are different all of them react different to the marvellous Message of our Almighty Lord, then your process is normal, different from the rest, similar to many but unique as you are unique.

I know I always recommend IslamicSunrays.com to read inspirational articles, other site I like a lot is suhaibwebb.com, I have learnt a lot with both of them, just take it easy, give your mind a rest, and if you want to learn something at a slow path just see what you feel drawn to and listen to your Heart, will guide you to the best for you as already is doing, Masha´Allah.

I just want to show you my support and my understanding of the process you are going through, you have made a difference in my life, just for being who you are, thank you very much for your Presence in my Life.

God(swt) bless, guide and help you through the most incredible journeys a person can initiate in his/her life, insha´Allah.

All my Unconditional Love, Respect and Support,

  3. Brother, i want u to know that the devil is on the sea, he has already promised Allah that he will mislead all men except those that he does't have authority and powers to mislead them. . . Those that he doesn't have authority on are those real and sincere muslims who are devouted to there religion and sincerely worship the one and only true God. . . . Satan is trying to temp u by making u feel there is no salvation in islam so that u can go back to christianity where they claim there god has already died for there sins and so they are free to leave there life's the way they like (which is of course a big and a blasphemous lie attributed to jesus). . . . . He (satan) is also trying to make u feel frustrated with the religion by making u not to ''understand'' what u read about islam. . . . . . Brother, salvation is very very easy in the fold of islam. . . Allah is the most mercifull and oft forgiven. . . . If you disobey Allah 10000 times today and now feel disgust about what u did and for that reason, u sincerely ask Allah to forgive u, He will inshaALLAH forgive u . . . . If for instance u disobey Him and now u sincerely ask him for forgiveness, but due to some dramatical situation, u cant control ur self and went on commiting that same sin several times., if u ask him to forgive u after all this (with sincerity and with intention never to do it again), He will inshaAllah do that. . . . . . . . . . . . . There is this wonderful hadith of the propht(sAW) which is narrated by ibn Abbas. . . . . The prophet(sAW) narrating about his lord (ALLAH) said, " Allah ordered (the appointed angels over you) that the good and the bad deeds be written, and He then showed (the way) how (to write). If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write for him a full good deed (in his account with Him)., and if he intends to do a good deed and actually does it, then Allah will write for him (in his account) with Him (its reward equal) from ten to seven hundred times, to many more times., and if somebody intended to do a bad deed and he does not do it, then (for u leaving that sin), Allah will write a full good deed (in ur account) with Him , and if he intended to do it (a bad deed) and actually does it, then Allah will write (only) one (single) bad deed (in his account)." (sahih Al bukhari, vol. 8, Hadith No. 498) . . . . . Also brother when u are reading about islam, whilst been objective about what u read, try as much as u can to read it with understanding and also make sense out of what u read. . .. . . . . . . . Concerning the jinns, i will refer u to chapter 72 of the Holy Quran. . . That will give u an insight about the concept of the jinns as the slaves and creatures of Allah. . . . . . Brother, the devil is striving in his own way to see u deviate from the straight path (after Almighty Allah has guided u) so that u should become among the dwellers of the hell fire. U must not allow him achieve this. Lest u will leave to deeply regret it with great sorrows and agonies on the day of ressurection. . . There are prayers that u can be doing so that u will rebuke this devil and he can never come ur way again. . . . . Among such prayers is ayatul kursi. , u should be reciting it every night before sleeping and also u should recite it as much as u can (30, 40, 70 or more) after fagr and asr prayers. . . InshaALLAH u will feel better. . .

  4. Assalamu alaykum Truthseeker86,

There comes a time in many people's life where Islam seems like a burden, but in reality the burden is our inability to live on it's terms. We deviate away from the path of Islam, act on our desires which lead us astray and we begin to think Islam is a burden.

    Where as Allah says:

    78. And strive for Allah with the endeavour which is His right. He hath chosen you and hath not laid upon you in religion any hardship; the faith of your father Abraham (is yours). He hath named you Muslims of old time and in this (Scripture), that the messenger may be a witness against you, and that ye may be witnesses against mankind. So establish worship, pay the poor due, and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protecting Friend. A blessed Patron and a blessed Helper! - Surah 22, Al Hajj.

Who can be more true than Allah?

He says: He has not laid in religion any hardship upon us. Allah has made the Deen easy for us. The Straight path is clear to understand. Then whensoever you leave His Path, the Qur'an, you begin to to astray.

Allah clearly mentions in the Qur'an the way of doing wudu:

    6. O ye who believe! When ye rise up for prayer, wash your face, and your hands up to the elbows, and lightly rub your heads and (wash) your feet up to the ankles. And if ye are unclean, purify yourselves. And if ye are sick or on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet, or ye have had contact with women, and ye find not water, then go to clean, high ground and rub your faces and your hands with some of it. Allah would not place a burden on you, but He would purify you and would perfect His grace upon you, that ye may give thanks.

Now in Arabia as there was sand and winds blowing it may have been so that people would have been cleaning nose, gaps between fingers on hands and feet etc in addition to the above away. But your wudu is complete if you obey the simple way Allah tells above. Who can be more true in words than Allah?

See how simple Allah has made for you to do wudu, what you call perfection is up to you. For the words of Allah are 100% perfect.

Some people say " passing air breaks wudu ", well it is just air, what is the wrong in it? How does it invalidate wudu when Allah has clearly stated in the Qur'an when a wudu is required to be done.

While crying in salaat, tears come out of the eyes, does it break wudu? No it does not.
After wudu, saliva comes in the mouth and people spit it out, does it break wudu? No it does not.
Even dirt comes out from the ears and nose as mucus, is it more as impurity or an air passed?

Yet people fear so much to go in to salaat and while in salaat they continously think about passing air and how to control it and are unable to concentrate on salaat. And from the people I have known, they pass air regularly and yet they do not perform wudu again.

I do not know what is the logic behind this "impurity" of air and invalidation of wudu due to it when so many people performing salaat think about back side than thinking about Allah and concentrating on salaat.

    Also,
I enjoyed my Islam until I read the Qur'an and hadith which were all good. But when I took up hadith books to read, and found no parallel between them and the Qur'an (others may not find so, this is my view) it slowly made me feel what am I following? What is the truth? How did the Prophet pray? Who is right? Who is not? What is the truth?

And I continued to read more and more scholars from the Sunnah and tried to find some stablitiy in their conclusions. But I was unable to, neither they are able to proclaim one Sunnah for all, as none is sure of their "school" of thought being the most perfect or either they are too sure of theirs being right and others being wrong if not then there would be no differences among Muslims in following the Sunnah.

So what I felt was that, the Prophet prayed salat, the Qur'an mentions takbir, it mentions what we say in rukoo, it mentions what we say in sujood and it mentions standing and bowing and prostrating and it mentions salaat times and it mentions praying in congregation even in wars and it mentions leading of prayer and it mentions Friday congregation and so on.

So instead of bringing anything of my own, inventing in the present or leaving a practice completely, I held on to the known Sunnah, which is in general common for most Muslims and which has been passed on from generation to generation by practice first and modified by books later when a person grows up.

You or I or even the "scholars" did not begin to learn salaat from books, while kids, we heard adhan, we saw how others prayed, we imitated them and the imaam, hence Islamic knowledge of religious practices was always in the public eye and not private. Wheter of Nikaah, or burial of dead, of Khutbaa of Jumu'a or Hajj or Umrah or salaat or zakaat or wudu, all practices were open to the public eye, from one man, the Prophet (peace be upon him) to hundreds and thousands seeing and imitating, Islam spread and people learnt from Qur'an and visible actions of the Prophet's Sunnah rather than books and most of us Muslims world wide learn from visible actions of the Sunnah then the books.

Islam spread to the East and West of the world during the time of companions and the generations that followed them. Then it stopped and decline began, retreat of Muslims began and this was the time when we had "pool of scholars" and lack of warriors fighting for the cause of Allah.

My studies led me to Qur'an, where I could find peace, I know hadith is important to know for every Muslim for the sole reason that it records the Sunnah, but there are lot of differences among scholars, where as there all Muslims, if the believe the Qur'an they all agree, but if they believe translations and tafsir based on hadiths, Sunni and Shiaa both differ greatly and among each split in to sects.

Therefore whenever you think iimaan is decreasing, go back to the Qur'an, the ONLY revealed BOOK, for Muslims.

Of course, Sunnah is important and a deep study based on the Qur'an is required to be done on it on a scholarly level, but we find obedience to scholars more than obedience to truth.

Whensoever a question is raised from the Qur'an. People say, what knowledge you have? Are you a scholar to interpret the Qur'an?

But they forget, the Qur'an is not just for scholars, it is as much for the comman man, the lay people too. It is a "Reminder unto all peoples"

As Allah repeatedly says in the Qur'an : Inhuwa illaa dhikhrul lil aalameen.

It is not just for a few learned to read and understand, but it is for all mankind, a Reminder from the Lord of the Worlds.

but there is no need to go on an extreme and trying to achieve perfection on something already under dispute and hidden from public eyes of a wide majority.

The Straight Path is the Qur'an, for a surety without any crookedness. This is what Allah commands the Prophet to do:

    112. So tread thou (O Muhammad) the straight path as thou art commanded, and those who turn (unto Allah) with thee, and transgress not. Lo! He is Seer of what ye do.
    113. And incline not toward those who do wrong lest the Fire touch you, and ye have no protecting friends against Allah, and afterward ye would not be helped.
    - Surah Huud.

I know my posts would anger some and bring variety of reactions, but this is my view, agreeing or disagreeing is upon the reader. One of my good (may be bad) habits is I cannot keep hidden what I need to speak up.

When I am following nothing but a hadith which conveys a meaning: " When one of you sees a wrong action, he should try to change it with his hand, if not with hand, then with tounge and if not with tounge then hate it from the mind and this is the lowest level of faith (iimaan)".

Speak up, Muslims should speak up, talk, discuss and engage in conversations. Solutions cannot be brought out by being quite and sitting in corners or divisions in sects, Oneness can only be achieved by coming to talk on a table.

One of the best way to get peace is : To obey Allah's commands and not to obey any sinful people and worship Allah in day and night.

    Salaam,
    Your brother.

    • Salam Brother,

I skimmed through your post. Don't know what you believe or what you want to convey here. But to your point of passing air from backside and it not breaking wudu. I think the reason it breaks wudu is because of the possibility of filth coming out along with discharge of gas. For some people when they pass out gas, they also pass out mucous like substance which is essentially filth. Though I am not medical expert but apart from people with upset stomach this is a case for people with IBS(Irritable bowel syndrome).

To your point that using hadith to understand the Quran causes differences and causes sects of 'Shia' and 'Sunni', I'll disagree, as the differences run deeper than this as one group of people believes that Quran is incomplete in its current form. So, I don't think interpreting Quran in light of Hadith is wrong. I think hadith is an important tools to interpret it.

I have removed some of the text from my comment as I don't want to go into debate just wanted to share my point of view for the breaking of wudu point and your blame that interpretation based on hadith causes differences.

      regards,

  5. السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ

Truthseeker86, do not listen brotherrMunib about following only the Quran (which he appears to have indirectly said) because he lacks the knowledge in this area i.e. that the Prophetic hadiths are also REVEALED by Allah. A major difference is that the Prophetic hadiths are not word by word revealed by Allah, but based on how the Prophet interpreted it, or in another cases, based on the Prophet's contemporary narrators in the chains of what they claimed to have heard from the Prophet.

Truthseeker86, there are 2 types of people: a pessimist and an optimist. Be an optimist by looking at the everything your doing right, and agreeing to correct everything your doing wrong. Do know that embracing Islam washes away ALL your previous sins? There's a narration informing us of this (Sahih Muslim - http://hadith.al-islam.com/Page.aspx?pageid=192&BookID=25&TOCID=63).

So, you should be happy about this. Moreover, Islam multiples your good deeds, but not your bad deeds.

"The Messenger of Allah said: He who amongst you is good of faith, all his good acts are multiplied from ten to seven hundred times (and are recorded in his name) and all the evils that he commits are recorded as such (i.e. without increase) till he meets Allah." (Sahih Muslim).

"Abd-Allaah ibn Mas'ud said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever reads one letter from the Book of Allah will earn one good deed thereby. One good deed is equal to ten good deeds the like of it. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter." (Tirmidhi, 2910 - Classed Hasan By Tirmidhi And Sahih By Sheikh Albani In Al-Jami, 6469 -Also Found In: Matla Al-Badrayn, Page 54 - Classed As Sahih By Imam Suyuti).

Also, if you "stop trying to read anything about Islam" your not following Islam, because Islam teaches us to seek knowledge. If you stop learning about Islam, that should make you more scared of not going to heaven, because learning Islam is necessary to practise it, to enter jannah. If you don't have the knowledge of what Allah expects from you (even though you have the ability to gain knowledge), how can you choose to not seek knowledge, when that will be far worse in the long run?

If jinns freak you out, that should encourage you to learn about them even more. Do you know why? Because the devil (evil jinn) could in the first place make you feel scared of jinns (by whispering with the same voice you think with), and try and make you ignorant of them, such that they'll decrease your faith and such that you won't have enough knowledge to combat against them. The more knowledge you have of them, the more you can use this knowledge to warn others, seek protection, etc.

Don't choose to be ignorant, because this is what Iblis (satan) did. He deliberately ignorantly claimed he was better than Adam. Hence, deliberate ignorance is an attribute of satan, so don't fall prey to that, when you have the ability to gain authentic knowledge.

    Regarding your statement:
"Many times i want to give up and go back to Christianity, so that i can believe Jesus died for my sins and I can relax again."

Based on the Bible, once you blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, the sin can never be forgiven (Mark 3:29, Matthew 12:32 & Luke 12:10). Embracing Islam automatically assumes that you've rejected the Holy Spirit, to be part of the Trinity (assuming that you were a Trinitarian). This is blasphemy in Christianity. Therefore, coming back to Christianity will not erase all your sins.

Secondly, converting to Christianity would assume (according to the Protestant Churches) that Jesus even died for the sin of you leaving Christianity! If he died for the sin of disbelief, then your off the hook for disbelieving in Christianity (no harm in being a non-Christian). If he didn't die for the sin of disbelief, that means he didn't die for ALL sins, which contradicts 1 John 2:2. With that said, how can you relax by converting to such an irrational religion? Satan makes falsehood relaxing/looks good, and truth hard/look bad.

By the way, it's not faith only to get to paradise in Christianity, it's faith AND WORKS. (James 2:14 and James 2:20-26). Also:

    1 Corinthians 15:2:
"By this gospel you are saved, IF you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain."

So, it's not faith alone in Christianity therefore, according to heir book, Christians don't have a free ride to paradise merely by having faith.

You should let your rationality overcome these evil emotional whispers you hear in your head. Your also being inconsistent with yourself by first saying that you will stop reading about Islam, but then you say Islam is more true than Christianity. If Islam is more true than Christianity (which it is), why not follow Islam when it teaches us to seek knowledge? If you say Islam is more true than Christianity, that also assumes that the Islamic teaching of "seeking knowledge" is also true. Hence, you should follow it.

Allah is not a created image, so try not to conjure an image of Allah. He has created us such that He goes beyond our rationale, not against it. Read these articles to increase your knowledge on aqeedah: http://aqeedah.wordpress.com/100/

Also, he doesn't hate you for not giving you knowledge. You have to understand that with the free will and the ability Allah has already given you, if you strive for knowledge, then Allah will make you understand. You must also be righteous as well. But, how can you expect to have a good understanding of Islam, when you yourself stated that you were not going to learn about it?

  6. As salam aliekum brother,

MashaAllah brother, very good reply. You know? Your comments impress me a lot because you simply follow and preach what the Qur'an tells, which was ofcourse revealed by Allah for both "muflis" & "zardaar." My eyes search and read your comments only. I seldom read anybody's comment except for sister maria or brother wael.

You told we should converse, discuss and speak up. That is what most people like me are unable to do. Although I have started to read meanings and translations of The Qur'an, am unable to convey it to others or even quote them in a proper way in my comments. May be it requires repeated and continuous study as it takes time for knowledge to take the form of wisdom.

I really want to be of some help to fellow muslims and in turn serve Allah, but I think that shall happen with time.

    MashaAllah!

    As salam aliekum.

    • Waleykum Assalaam Sister Fatima,

🙂 Alhamdulillaah. Thanks to Allah ! I have at least one visible supporter in form of you.

      Jazaakallah for the nice words.

The Qur'an if you study repeatedly will Insha Allah lead you from "knowledge to wisdom" as Allah Himself calls it "Al Hikmah".

Sister, Qur'an itself is formed of repetition, reminders and once a person goes on repeating the Qur'an, he/she sees the revelations of Allah in the darkness of the night and in broad day light and remembers Allah's words as much as He wills and feels : Indeed, the Word of Allah is Haqq.

The Qur'an conveys new meanings each time, every verse seem to be different when read previously, Alhamdulillaah, this is the beauty of the Qur'an.

Once you read repeatedly, Insha Allah, you think the Qur'an, you speak the Qur'an and you try to live the Qur'an, discussions, conversations, table debates will automatically come up Insha Allah.

Remember, you may be rejected with a thorough rejection by people, but Allah is with you if you speak the Truth.

This is how Allah prepares the Prophet by the earlier revelations of the Qur'an by commanding recital of Qur'an during night time and waking up for Him and taking Him alone as a defender against the rejectors.

      Surah 73. Al-Muzzammil
      1. O thou wrapped up in thy raiment!
      2. Keep vigil the night long, save a little
      3. A half thereof, or abate a little thereof
      4. Or add (a little) thereto and chant the Qur’an in measure,
      5. For We shall charge thee with a word of weight.
      6. Lo! the vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain.
      7. Lo! thou hast by day a chain of business.
      8. So remember the name of thy Lord and devote thyself with a complete devotion
      9. Lord of the East and the West; there is no God save Him; so choose thou Him alone for thy defender
      10. And bear with patience what they utter, and part from them with a fair leave taking.
      11. Leave Me to deal with the deniers, lords of ease and comfort (in this life); and do thou respite them awhile.

See the good manners Allah teaches the Prophet (peace be upon him): Devote yourself to Allah with complete devotion, take Him alone as a defender, bear with patience what they (deniers) say (do not reply back in a similar fashion) and part from them a with a fair leave taking ( separate from them in kindness and not by heated arguments or shouting). Leave Allah to deal with them.

Insha Allah, we too should try live upon the earlier revelations of the Qur'an to follow the pattern of the Prophet and begin the call of Islam like he did.

May Allah help you spread His Deen.

      Salaam,
      Your brother.

      • BrotherMunib,

I find you extremely disrespectful. Wael refrained from publishing your comment for a reason and so you sneaked it in through the back door on this post. I have deleted your entire comment for that reason.

If you wish to help the original author of the post, then feel free to write here. But any religious debates between yourself and other writers will be deleted. Furthermore, the brother who wrote this post needs some gentle reminders and encouragement about sticking to Islam, not arguments and conflicting debate between two people from the same faith that he is already questioning and having difficulty with.

This website is here for offering common sense and friendly advice, not for engaging in religious or political debate. So I suggest you set up your own forum so you can debate away under your own terms and conditions.

        • Assalamu alaykum Sister Z,

Allah sees. Allah is not unaware.

          • Munib, Walaykumsalaam,

In one of your messages that I deleted, you said: "What gives you pleasure in hiding the truth from the people? If my words are false, they will reject it. Why you fear so much that you delete the whole post?" Well Bro, I am getting a little tired of your ridiculous and continued sarcasm. Of course Allah sees. And I am not and have not deleted any of your messages in order to hide anything.

I did not reply to you earlier, because I was busy and this is the first opportunity I have had to reply to you. So in reply to the above: I chose to delete your entire comment, not because you had replied to 'Anon', nor did I delete it because I fear anything or because I was trying to hide anything. In fact, I actually did not even read all of your comment. I chose to delete it because you had sneakily pasted the same comment into your message that Brother Wael had refrained from publishing in another post. You were well aware that Br Wael had not just deleted your comment in a whim and that he had done so after you continued to ignore his warnings.

So by pasting that very same comment of yours in this post, you showed extreme disrespect to Br Wael. Furthermore, you have continued using this website to express your religious opinions but do not care at all for the policies. No one is saying that you cannot have your own opinion, but when your opinions are disrespectful to the Companions of Rasool(sws) and the authentic hadeeth they have narrated; together with your persistency to publish material that has previously been deleted by our Editors, we will not tolerate it.

You do give good advice when you are not having a religious frenzy. So if you wish to continue offering advice on this website, then stick to its policies. If you wish to promote your religious views, then it would be better for you to go elsewhere and set up your own forum perhaps.

            ***

Finally, there are so many people who are waiting patiently for their posts to be published and answered. But unfortunately, I am having to spend most of my time replying to your time wasting argumentative comments. I would much rather give my attention to those who need it, so this futile debate ends here. If anymore of your comments are deemed offensive or not constructive, they will be deleted automatically.

  7. Assalam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu,

THis is very funny, i did not published this question (i thought) , because after I wrote it i found out this site is for family-questions .. So I saved it as a draft only.. Now tonight i was feeling a bit scared again, and i googeled some words to find advice , and there it was ; the first result was this page, i read the question and i actually first thought "oh yes yes i totally get you.. i feel the same way" until i found out it was my own question! hahaha..

Okay jazakallah khairan for all the replies... esspecially brother concerned, and sister maria .. May Allaah reward you , this was very very helpfull and I do not say this to be polite.. I did not fully read the answer from brother Muniib , i appreciate you want to help .. but this is something i made up my mind about , so i do ignore all information which is based on the assumption that hadeeth should be ignored.

@Anon; yes i know converting to Islam washes away all your sins, however i unfortunately am still alive and do sins every day ... so this is not enough to make me an optimist.. 😉 But what I learned is that i should indeed try to focuss more on the fact that Allaah is mercifull , and that there are many proofs for that ... thank you for making me realize that. You also have some very simple, but important point about Christianity which i will remember forever now. But it is not true that i gave up on searching knowlegde, i have tried, but it made me more scared.. and i do not understand .. so it seems too easy to say "search fo rknowledge and you will understand" ..

    • Truthseeker,

Perhaps you've misunderstood what Anon has said. Reverting to Islam washes away all your previous sins. If you sin after being a Muslim, you are still a Muslim and one must repent. Becoming Muslim does not mean we are immune to sinning. It just means we have the knowledge of the Hereafter, so InshaAllah we will strive to avoid sinning and to stay on the straight way. We need to strike a balance between hope and fear of Allah. So while we should have hope and full faith in Allah's Mercy, we must avoid letting this give us a false sense of security.
