  1. As salamu alaykum, Shama,

In Islam, iddah or iddat (Arabic: العدة‎; period of waiting) is the period a woman must observe after the death of her spouse or after a divorce, during which she may not marry another man.

The period, three months after a divorce , is calculated on the number of menses that a woman has. Iddah was intended to ensure that the male parent of any offspring produced after the cessation of a nikah would be known.

Shama, you can wait one month to follow the straight way and your future spouse if he loves you as much, he could be able to wait too, just one month, you can be separate one month more, we are human beings, we can control our instincts.

I believe that you need to be firm about your time, you are the one that has something to loose, he doesn´t.

You owe this period of restriction as muslimah. Accept it, pray your salat on time, make duas, increase your iman, this will make easier for you to wait, you need to focus your sexual energy into spiritual energy, you can do it, insha´Allah.

Be straight my beloved muslimah, to follow the straight Path will bring Peace to your Heart, insha´Allah.

  2. Sister Shama, As-salamu alaykum,

As María said, you must wait and complete your 'iddat. Until your 'iddah is completed, you are still married. The intention of the 'iddah is to give you time to reconcile with your husband if you choose. So this period must be respected and adhered to. You should NOT have ANY personal contact with other men during this time. There should be no discussion of marriage to someone else, no proposals, no unnecessary conversations with other men.
