Asking an Imam to recite Quran in a new home, in order to protect oneself
Moving to a new House
Asalam Alaykium Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakullah My Siblings In Islam,
I pray this finds you in a good health and higher of Iman.
In two weeks time, I will be moving out to a Non Muslim lady’s house to rent a room In sha Allah, She’s very lovely masha’Allah. I pray my lifestyle will make her consider the beauty of Islam.
Anyway, I was wondering will it be fine according to Islam if I invited Imam come over and reciting Quran or pray in a room where I will be sleeping/study etc to protect me from devil Jinns or is it shirk?

Wa Alaikum as Salam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu,
Sister, it is not required that you ask an Imam to recite the Quran in order to save yourself from the evils of the house. Say "Bismillah" and enter, you yourselves recite the Quran in there, pray your prayers, do regular adhkaar, etc. But the scolars say the a feast (or a party) is preferred. And Allah Knows Best.
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in al-Waabil al-Sayyib (155-156):
Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, said in the story of the two men (interpretation of the meaning):
“It was better for you to say, when you entered your garden: ‘That which Allaah wills (will come to pass)! There is no power but with Allaah!’ If you see me less than you in wealth, and children”
[al-Kahf 18:39]
The one who enters his garden or house or sees something that he likes in his wealth or his family should hasten to say these words, and if he does, no harm will befall the thing that he admired.
And it was narrated that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw something that he liked, he would say: “Al-hamdu Lillaah illadhi bi ni’matihi tatimmu’l-saalihaat (Praise be to Allaah by Whose grace good deeds are completed).”
Narrated by Ibn Maajah (3803). Al-Nawawi said: Its isnaad is jayyid. Al-Adhkaar (399).
It was narrated from Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “When a man enters his house, and mentions Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, when he enters and when he eats, the shaytaan says: ‘You have no place to stay and no dinner.’ But if he enters and does not mention Allaah when he enters, the shaytaan says, ‘You have found a place to stay.’ And if he does not mention Allaah when he eats, he says: ‘You have found a place to stay and dinner.’”
Narrated by Muslim (2018).
This dhikr is for entering your home, not necessarily a new one.
Also, It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not make your houses into graves, for the Shaytaan flees from a house in which Soorat al-Baqarah is recited.”
Narrated by Muslim (780).
Just make sure that the lady being a non Muslim does not affect your practice of the Deen, or the Shaitaan does not lead you astray by putting you in doubt when you look at her practice her Religion (her deen). Guard all your prayers, recite the Quran, supplicate the daily Adhkaar (you can read them from the book of duas called Fortress of the Muslim

1ST-THERE IS NO PRIESTHOOD IN ISLAM-
Just lead a normal life in new house and offer ur salah etcc, and iremeber quran is indeed for cure but main purpose is to seek guidance not for priest hood
