Should I leave my good job / life for full-time Quran studies?
Dear all,
I am a 28 year old female - have done my MBA and very well settled in a good job.
I am truly enjoing an independent life - with perks from work one could only dream of. My employer values me and I almost always get my way in things.
The thing is that I always wanted to study Quran with tafseer word by word ever since I was kid. I didn't really care much about wordly education but got through with it only as my parents were not getting me married (still aren't) because i kept motivating myself thinking of Quranic education as a goal after my MbA.
Now in order to do that I need to move to another city in 4 months just to fulfill my dream and a farz. Because i have not been able to find a Quran program here that would fit my schedule plus i'm impatient and would really like to study it as full-time academic course.
My employer as usual is trying to retain me - offering me salary raise etc. and i'm super confused now. I have worked / studied hard to be where i am and if i leave my job to move to another city to study Quran - I may come back to nothing - no job, being poor etc. i may never be able a similar job/ employer like this one. Allah has given me much more than I had asked me and scared of losing it; scared of poverty as I have seen bad times in my life earlier. There's no one to motivate me in my life to tell me that i'm doing the right thing. Not my parents, not my friends - teachers are only able to help to an extend.
On other hand, if i don't take up the opportunity to study now i may regret deeply as I won't be able to be as practicing as I would like to be without studying Quran.
Please advise on what should i do ): is this a test from Allah SWT or should i be thankful for all i have, stay back - even if that means losing out on a dream?

AOA.
Islam teaches the middle path to everything and that certainly includes your case. Allah has said that he likes successful and financially stronger muslims than their less successful counterparts. This is so that you are in a position of influence and can help other muslims.
Your options could be:
- Keep the job, take a sabbatical of 3-6 months and complete your Islamic course
- Do not take a sabbatical and find time in the evenings/weekends and do an online course
If you are valuable to the Company, they wouldn't mind allowing you either of the above.
Allah knows best.

I totally agree with what's said above.

It is not clear why your parents are not getting you married. Where do you live? Not a good idea to leave your job. Try to find a different way to achieve your goal. Have your tried reading books with tafseer online or offline? You can even have a Quran teacher give you private lessons.
I see you use a nickname "Warrior". Are you planning to be a warrior?
