  1. Walaikumassalaam Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatu.

Abu Hurayrah narrates that The Prophet pbuh said:“There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its remedy.” Bukhari 7.582

My brother Rizwan, All you have to do is apply the remedy which Allah has given to your problem, but if you don't apply the remedy, then what will you answer Allah when you commit suicide? Allah says in the Quran "Don't kill yourself. No doubt Allah (swt) is merciful and anyone who does so, will be pushed in fire and it is easy for Allah (swt)." (Nisa: 4:29, 4:30)

“Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allah)”
    (an-Noor 24:5).

“Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, ‘When (will come) the Help of Allah?’ Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allah is near!”
    (al-Baqarah 2:214).

What this means is: Or do you think that you, O believers in Allah and His Messenger, will enter Paradise without anything befalling you like that which befell those who came before you among the followers of the Prophets and Messengers, of hardship, trials and tests? You will be tested as they were tested, with “severe poverty”, which is severe hardship and want, and “ailments”, which is pain and sickness.

So no matter how rich a family you're born in, no matter how good environment you are in, no matter how much talented you are, now matter how healthy you are, no matter if your parents are the best doctors in the world or you take the best treatment and medications in the world, and heck no matter if you live on Mars, YOU WILL BE TESTED!

And what Allah says is if you build your emaan consistently, then no matter how bad a family you're born in, no matter if you have all the diseases in the world, no matter if you live in the poorest condition in the world, you won't even feel an ant's sting.

So the solution is you're gonna have to keep raising your emaan consistently, and when you do that, Allah strengthens your heart with forbearance and tranquility that no harm would touch you at all!.That's the beauty of Islam. That's the difference between Islam and other religions and other worldly solutions. If your heart isn't given such strength, then you simply don't have enough emaan.

Imagine your emaan inside your heart - your spiritual heart - and the Shaytan always tries to enter it, but you have to protect it from Shaytan entering it, but if the Shaytan enters it, he makes you commit sins, causes you depression, anxiety, fear etc. and eventually makes you lose hope in Allah.

“There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoiled, the whole body gets spoiled – and that is the heart.” (Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 49)

What causes the Shaytan to enter your heart? Well, failing to do any obligatory things in Islam. They are, simply put, Salah and Character, and in character, it's just mainly Anger, protecting your Gaze, and avoiding music.
So let's say, for example, you miss salah or listen to music, then Shaytan gets inside your heart and makes you sin!
(Iblis) said: "Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. Except Your SINCERE, (guided) slaves among them" (Quran, al-Hijr: 39:40).

So ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is protect your emaan in your heart consistently from Shaytaan and that's it!

And finally, how do you raise your emaan consistently and protect your emaan? Well, the best way is gaining knowledge from lectures and acting on it. So all you have to do is watch a lecture of, let's say, Yusha Evans every day consistently and take care of your 5 salah and character, which mainly includes anger, protecting your gaze from looking at haram things, and avoiding music. Do this for JUST FOR 5 DAYS and I challenge you, you would look back at your life and you would say how easy it was and you'll be aiming higher in this world and the akhirah. The first video you should be watching is this:

    • Salam. With all due respect akhi, I completely agree that increasing faith and worship can positively impact a person’s mental health. Studies even prove spirituality has calming effects on the mind and body.

However, I do think your comment reflects a common misconception among our Muslim communities. The belief that “ALL you have to do is raise your Iman and that’s it” has lead to the downfall of countless Muslim youths suffering from mental illness. Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are serious disorders that are complex in nature, the majority of the time it takes more than acts of worship to completely eliminate hallucinations, voices, manic episodes, or mood swings. Raising Iman is half of the solution and without a doubt an important element of healing. But the other half is seeking intensive therapy, finding support from family and friends, discovering key sources of stress, and cutting off anything toxic to the mind. As a community we need to be more open to offering other solutions to mental health issues that can exist simultaneously with remeberance of Allah. I’ve seen the results of both together.

      And Allah knows best

      • Walaikumasalaam Warahmatullahi Wabarakaathu. Alhamdulillah

Mashallah, Akhi. Ya Akhi, do not be angry because of the harsh words used. A lot of it is directly copied from my Sheikh's website.

You haven't completely understood what emaan is. Eemaan (true faith) is the Belief of the Heart, Speech of the Tongue and Actions of the Limbs. And what did I say about the video that I have given? "I said "the best way is gaining knowledge from lectures and acting on it"

Given that, as we know, schizophrenia - persistent hallucinations and delusions that result in abnormal perception and belief
-these people have a distorted interpretation of reality
-therefore they do not see the truth as truth and falsehood as falsehood

A person suffering from heinous schizophrenia has delusions
-and so he has a twisted view of reality

Schizophrenic patients hear voices, directing them to cause harm
-the psychologists say they have not found the cause of this sickness
-they cannot because this is above them, they are physical and not spiritual
-so you need to listen to us Muslims to teach you psychology and psychiatry
        -Allah said;

"Who whispers in the breasts of mankind, (An-Nas 114:5)

Of jinns and men." (An-Nas 114:6)'

-so the voices they hear are those of shaytan and this is the answer
-this is the cause of their disorder but you do not know
        -Allah also said;

And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Qur'an and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. (Az-Zukhruf 43:36)

-this is the answer for schizophrenia in front of your very eyes
-if you do not do dhikr and worship Allah
-Allah appoints for you a shaytan as your companion, a qareen
-this qareen is a jinn and whatever he likes, is what the person will take
        -e.g. alcohol, homosexuality, drugs etc

people take drugs in pursuit of happiness
-but they never reach there because it is an illusion

"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." (Ta-Ha 20:124)

People become sad because they forget Allah

They have forgotten Allāh, so He has forgotten them. Verily, the hypocrites are the Fāsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allāh) (At-Tawbah 9:67)

He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)." (Ta-Ha 20:125)

(Allah) will say: "Like this, Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allah's Mercy)." (Ta-Ha 20:126)

        THEY SPEAK TO THEMSELVES

-this is because of the voices they hear
-this is waswasa of shaytan and it is the cause of schizophrenia
-the cure is for them to come back to their deen
-because iblees only has power over weak Muslims

Quran (15:39-40) " [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all Except Your sincere servants".

Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allāh - Islāmic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allāh, Verily, in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest. (Ra'd 13:2)

But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'ān nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)." (Allāh) will say: "Like this, Our Ayāt (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allāh's Mercy)." (Ta-Ha 20:124-126)

As you say "Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are serious disorders that are complex in nature."
        - The Prophet (SAW) and his Companions - the Sahabs (RA) faced the greatest, the most complex psychological problems on earth and what helped them? Eemaan - the Belief of the Heart, Speech of the Tongue and Actions of the Limbs.

  2. Asalaamu alaikum Brother,

Praise be to God Most High, who created you, you were nothing and now you exist. Your existence is a real act of God The Exalted. Each of your remaining breaths are not remaining by accident. Every single event you see in the world complies with His Will. As the great companion of the Prophet PBUH, Ali May God be pleased with him said, Run away from God's Will and you will end up at God's Will.

Your exam, your illness, each and every challenge you can see and experience, is from your Creator. He is Most Wise and knows best. Don't you gaze up at the stars at night, and realize that it is millions of kms away, millions of years away, that the Universe is almost endless and Earth is the smallest speck in that endless space. and we are specks on the Earth. and we are born then pass on. We all Must die.

In this context, I want you to realize that complaining about your situation will not help, unless you beg and complain the Allah Most Compassionate. the prayers of the sick are answered more readily so Pray for cure and ease.

Also read abundant salawaat on the Messenger Peace and Blessings be upon Him. When you do, your blessings will be sent and directly received by him. And then He will return it back to you and InshAllah by the Will of God, All of your needs will be answered. There are countless stories on this proving that there is cure with sincere salawaat. Research this.

Also when it comes to mental illness, get professional help. if you can't afford it, do your research and find nonprofit organizations in your area that can help you. stop complaining and start turning to action to solve these issues. prayer and action will InshAllah bring success.

May Allah make your difficulties easy for you and open your Heart through them.

one last request, Please watch on Youtube "17 Benefits of Tribulation by Hamza Yusuf" it will change your life InshAllah
