British woman in love with a Muslim man – why can’t he marry me?
I have never met his friends or family, and yesterday he told me that I wouldn’t be accepted into his community because of my race. I find this extremely difficult to accept. I understand how interracial relationships aren’t celebrated within the Pakistani community, however I can’t help but feel I should be introduced to them.
Converting from Bohra Shia sect to proper Islam
I’m a bohra convert which is a Shia sect to mainstream Islam. It is a real close knit community. I have been practicing Islam for the past 3 years, but my family is unaware of it for obvious reasons. Recently, I was proposed to by a Muslim friend for marriage whom I know for the past 12 yrs. We have been good friends since our school days, and he is aware of the dilemmas that I’m facing in life. We are in love and obviously want to get married, his family have given their consent.
Parents wish and attitude about marriage
A year back, when I was in my second last year of medical school, my parents desired to form a new relationship for me, in the form of nikah. They had already informed me of their plans and wanted me to point any religious, nice girl someone from a good family
I’m inlove with someone, but am being forced to marry another
I am 21, I loved this boy, and some of my family members were in favour of his proposal too, they to felt that he loves me for real. However, coz the boys family were not very nice, my parents had suspicion on the boy that I love too. After some time I got engaged to someone else that was the choice of my parents.
My parents keep fighting and the girl I love is marrying someone else
– first problem is about parents its been more then 20years that my mom n dad are married they are havin 5 kids, both of them are nice humans but not good for each others, they trying to live there life for us or may be just because they were married(arrange), you know image of divorced women in Pakistan so we dont want our mom n dad to be seperate, but they are fighting 24/7 hurting each other again n again..
