Al Salam Alykom
Dear Sir,
I’m Muslim man originally from Egypt working and living in one of the Arabic gulf country, I was met with Christian Filipina lady and we agreed for marriage in Philippines
One year back we traveled to manila and we did the marriage contract at the “ Golden Mosque ” by Imam there and it has been written in the contract that the marriage being solemnized under art No. 33 of executive order No. 209 and registered from all over even from the department of foreign affairs and the Philippines embassy from the country which I work in
Due to personal issues we can’t to continue for this marriage and I need to Divorce my respectable Filipina wife please note that the original contract with all approval already with me
The question I need to do this divorce in the Philippines because it should be registered also at there and in the same time she will not suffer after if she decide to remarry again so is there is any way to start for this even I’m out of Philippines, can I make authorization for any person as Imam to fully finalize this topic in there in Philippines
Thank you Sir

Assalaamu Alaykum,
This is a detailed legal question we cannot answer. Please consult with a Fillipino attorney, and in shaa Allah they can guide you correctly.

Alaikomissalam.
You can file a Divorce in any Shariah Circuit Court in the Philippines.
After due notice and hearing, the court may grant a decree of divorce that will allow the annotation of your Marriage records in the Local Civil Registrar of Manila and eventually in the National Statistics Authority.
A Shariah Lawyer can act as your legal counsel to represent you in the court.
