How to control urges leading to masturbation?

The Worldly Temptations

I am a 20 year old male, i am writing this to get help.

I have started to masturbate at the age of 16 approx, and from then goes with the flow.

Last year before Ramzan I stopped it and did not masturbate for about 6 to 7 months and believe me thats a lot to carry for a young blood. I am really not addicted to it but its just something which can not be controlled.

Now a days i am  really worried, even in Ramzan i am thinking bad but ALLHAMDULLILAH controled the desire.

I have read somewhere in this site only that masturbation is not specifically Haram in Islam because it was not in Prophet Muhammad(Salle Allah ho Wale Wasalam)'s time.

Its sometimes gets difficult for me to clean the private area, whenever i do that i cant control the desire to masturbate.

Plz help me through this.Plz.

    As Salamualaikum brother Imad,

    I am glad that you intend to stop this habit. The first condition of Tawbah is to realize that you have sinned.
    But the question is whether masturbation is Haraam or not.

    Some scholars including Imam ash Shafa'i Rahimahullah, rule it to be Haraam based on this Aayah from the Quran:

    Surah Mu'minoon:

    5. And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts)
    6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame;
    7. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors;

    End quote...

    Some say that it is allowed in extreme situations where you fear you'd fall into Zina.

    Shaikh Mahmood Khaleel al Harras was asked:

    We have heard alot about the one who masturbates, so is there a hadeeth with the meaning that the one who masturbates and the one who has intercourse with a slavewoman is cursed whatever the situation? I implore you to give this subject it's right, and may Allaah cause you to be of benefit.

    The Shaikh replied: I do not recall any hadeeth regarding the masturbator being cursed, however, I have read that a youth was sitting in the gathering of Ibn 'Abbaas (radhi-yAllaahu 'anhumaa ) and waited until everyone had left, whereupon he asked Ibn 'Abbaas about that. So Ibn 'Abbaas said: ((Oh! Oh! Having intercourse with the slavewoman is better than that, and that is better than committing zinaa)), [Transmitted by al-Bayhaqee and Ibn Hazam in al-Muhallaa].
    And I have also read in some of the books of the Hanaabilah the permissibility of masturbating for he who fears falling into zinaa. However, (the) gravity (of masturbating) is regarded the same as eating from the (already) dead carcass (i.e. if you have no other food and fear you will die if you do not eat from it), so it is not permissible for him to do so except for that which alleviates the dire necessity. And Allaah is the Most knowledgeable.

    Based on this, we can say that one can masturbate only in extreme situations where one fears that he will fall into Zina.

    My brother, this makes of feel that Shaitaan is having a strong hold on you. He is whispering in your heart, when you should be thinking about Allah. This is why you have been feeling so. This is why you get the feeling of masturbating, whenever you try to clean your privet area.

    All you need to do is increase your remembrance of Allah, pray all the 5 prayers, obey your parents and serve them, and be dutiful to Allah.

    You can have a book of duas known as Hisn al Muslim or Fortress of the Muslim, either from an Islamic Center, or you can download it from islamhouse.com , read the duas therein and pray to Allah. Ask Allah to give you Taqwah and control over your desires. If you do the 5 prayers with khushoo and insha Allah, you'll see that your desire will gradually decrease. You canattain Khushoo by contemplating on the meaning of whatever you read in the prayers and by Worshipping Allah, as if you can see him. Because if you can't see him, He can see you.

    Practice there, and Insha Allah, it'll help you overcome the problem.

    Sex can only be controlled by not taking FOOD at the day of excitment the sex excitment occurs due to food energy if we avoid food in excitment day than there is noexcitement
