Will Dua’a help me find my necklace?

Giving gold

Salam Alaikum everyone,
A few years ago, my grandmother gave me a gold necklace for my birthday that I wore everyday until I lost it. It is extremely dear to me and holds much sentimental value because I love my grandmother and don't get to see her very often due to distance. About 10 months ago, I took off my necklace to take a shower. When I got out, I put my necklace and my hair ties in a small napkin (so they wouldn't slip through my fingers when walking) and set them on a table. I had forgotten to put it back on and when I came back later in the day to retrieve it, it wasn't there. I asked around my house and my mother said she may have thrown it away thinking it was a dirty napkin someone had left behind.

I've made dua'a and looked anywhere I think it could possibly be, but I've found nothing. Will continuing my dua'a help or is it no use since it seems my mother has accidentally thrown it away?

  1. Assalaamualaykum rowan,

I'm so sorry to hear of your missing necklace. I know it meant a lot to you due to your grandmother giving it to you.
I'm afraid that based on what you describe...how it was no longer in the place where you left it and how it was in a napkin, it's very possible your mother accidentally threw it away. How heavy was it? If it was anything like the necklace in the photo above, your mother surely would have noticed that something was in the napkin, but if it was just a small chain and pendant, she may not have.

There's always the chance that you left it somewhere inadvertently and it may show up. You can certainly make a dua to that effect and inshallah, it might turn up.

I think the greater lesson here is that it's a material thing, even if it does have sentimental value, and that we will lose all material things one day. One day, you may hardly have any attachment left to this necklace, even though today it is so important to you. Alhamdulillah your grandmother herself is still alive, and you can still enjoy and cherish her company on the rare times you two see one another. That is indeed more precious than any necklace!

    Hugs,

  2. Salam Sis,

    Recite Surah Al-Massad

If the necklace is not thrown away by your mother and you are absolutely sure that you know where you lost it then keep reciting Surah Al-Masad and keep searching you will find it In Shaa Allah Bi'eznillah

Whenever i lost something I recite this sura and find it immediately

Just have Yeqin (100% trust in Allah)

    good luck
