BILQIS ANSWERS:

Dear Questioners,

For those of you (at least 2) who have inquired about the particulars of DIVORCE in Islam and also MARRYING in EGYPT while still married in Europe, I would like to acknowledge receipt of your questions. However, as mentioned earlier, I am not an Islamic scholar and will not attempt to answer questions of a LEGAL nature. I encourage you both to seek knowledge from the proper Islamic sources. Most mosques have someone or can refer you to someone who can help with such matters. There are also some major muslim organizations here in the USA, such as MSA and ISNA, who can also help you.

These are some web resources you may find useful:

"Our Dialogue," a question and answer column from Jeddah's Arab News, addresses the issue of Khula on this page: http://ourdialogue.com/khu.htm

Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).

Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).

Yusuf al-Qaradawi's Works on the Internet (read al-Halal wal-Haram fil Islam, which contains chapters on marriage and divorce).

Muzammil Siddiqi's Answers to Questions About Religion: Dr. Siddiqi, President of ISNA, is very knowledgeable and and has answered many questions on this page.
