Dear Bilqis,
Please can you help. I am a European women, separated from
her husband and engaged to be married to an Egyptian man. When
is it possible for us to be married in Egypt, before or after
a European divorce?

Dear Questioners,
For those of you (at least 2) who have
inquired about the particulars of DIVORCE in Islam and also MARRYING
in EGYPT while still married in Europe, I would like to acknowledge
receipt of your questions. However, as mentioned earlier, I am
not an Islamic scholar and will not attempt to answer questions
of a LEGAL nature. I encourage you both to seek knowledge from
the proper Islamic sources. Most mosques have someone or can
refer you to someone who can help with such matters. There are
also some major muslim organizations here in the USA, such as
MSA and ISNA, who can also help you.
