Will I get heaven or hell?
No offence to any one but I have a question which has been troubling me since long time. What will happen to me on judgement day ?
I am a non muslim guy but I have more muslim friends than that of my own religion. So I have been hearing about these things very now and then. I have never committed a sin like hurting anybody, stealing, drinking or what ever which is common in any religion. But sometimes my friends say following everything and not committing any sin is ok but you are not following Allah and do not worship him and that is a kind of sin as they try to interpret (even they are not sure of that due to lack of knowledge).
So since I am not following Islam for that reason only, will I be punished. Or what will be done with me on that day??

Bismillah ar Rahmaanir Raheem,
I am by no means an expert - but i think that - insha'Allah - i'll be able to offer - if any - advise that you'll use.
1)The Plain truth is that none but Allah(sw't) knows on about what will happen to you after your death i.e for in the afterlife which you seem to believe in.
2) There have been 'hadiths' and ayats from the Qur'an on about those who will dwell in hell - but! They are really characteristics of the disbelievers.
3) Albeit there have had been mention of jews and christians, and pagans - but they are really people who sticked to their religion after having had been shown the truth.
4) None will be judged of what he/she knows not, i.e of what the person is ignorant of.
5) But it has also been stipulated that the person - the lay person, any person - should look for God, this is something intrinsic that we've been blessed with; but then, you may find that many people actually never look for God; but looking for God is also denying of what is not rationale, looking for God is really going by what is most appeasing to the soul, looking for God is really the quest for the truth.
6) You might retort by saying that you have found the truth in your religion! and that yoy've found it to be without any fault and without any blot or blame - by that you also affirm that this is the pathway via which attaining God is only plausible.
7) why only!? for if it is not the only one then you believe that other pathways are as true as the one you are following i.e other religions.
8) and if you are to think as such - then this might really contradict point number 6 as it would also imply that the religions that you've accepted may be recipient of 'realities' that nevertheless contradict the 'truth' you are following.
Now getting to the point of 'not sinning' - my apologies for if..
1) it all depends on upon your understanding of what is good.
2) many people think of themselves as being good - but are they really?
3) the society or should i say that the other religions or simply 'man' (but not Islam) has segregated Good as being made up of two parts - 'ethical and moral' good and the religious good.
4) ethical good has had been defined as being good manners and many of them have had been directed by the God.
5) The only-ethically good a person is really someone who is polite to everyone, helps everyone, is always loving towards each and everyone he's been in contact with; but then he is not 'religiously-good', i.e he does not know of God, he may be an atheist or just a blind follower of something or just someone who just neglected his spiritual self by committing himself entirely to the materialistic world. - i said 'entirely'.
6) The only-religiously good a person is the like of that Muslim who worships five times a day, but does not respect his neighbor, beats his parents, indulges in immoral activities and so on and so forth.
7) Islam stipulates us to be good i.e a combination of both; It does not tell you that the only religiously good a person will attain heaven as the latter has really disobeyed God.
8) each of these person has really disobeyed God but the worse of Sin is really not worshiping God.
9) Why should we worship God is another thing - which..you can..ask to know afterwards - insha'Allah.
Astaghfirullah..
My apologies for if..
Suel,
You sound like a very sweet guy. You have asked such a good, innocent question - and it is a question that we should all be concerned about: 'What will happen to me on judgement day?'
Only Allah knows what will happen to us individually that day, at the same time, we should be able to tell what kind of direction we are headed in by taking account of our own actions. But before all that Suel, we need to believe in and follow our Creator Allah's rules. If we do this sincerely, then we are trying our best to follow Allah. He is everyone's Creator, but not everyone accepts this, because other religions which started with the truth have become mixed with false hood and polluted the true message of Allah.
Suel - being a Muslim means submitting to the will of Allah. Knowing that He is our Creator and still not worshipping Him alone - that is a sin. So all I can do is invite you to learn about Islam if you are willing to do so and then make your own mind up about which way you want to go - towards Islam or away from it?

Your question is not easy to answer as Allah forgives whomever He wills and punishes whomever He wills. When He forgives a person, He does so out of His Mercy and when He punishes a person He does so out of His justice. No person will receive a punishment more than is deserved.
The truth is: no one knows whether or not they will enter heaven or hell. There are no guarantees, so I can't answer your question as only God knows the answer. One thing I can tell you is we are supposed to be good, kind people AND still worship Allah alone without ascribing any partners to Him.
It seems you are inclined towards Islam so I also urge you to look into it carefully. Is there a particular fear you have which is stopping you from considering Islam?

If you have any questions about Islam you are welcome to write on here and we will do our best to help you.
Whilst sister z and sara said something right, there are some issues to clarify.... First:) Allah said in the koran,,,"AND WHOSOEVER SEEKS A RELIGION OTHER THAN ISLAM, IT WILL NEVER BE ACCEPTED OF HIM (or her), AND IN THE HEREAFTER HE (or she) WILL BE ONE OF THE LOSERS (ie dwellers of hell fire).".koran3:85... Also there is an hadith narrated by abu huraira in which prophet muhammad pbuh said : "by Him (ALLAH) in who's hand muhammad's soul is, there is none from amongst the jews and the christians (refering to the jews and christians that exist from his lifetime down to the present day jews and christians, and any jew or christian that would exist till the end of the world) who hears about me and without believing in the massage with which i have been sent (ie islamic monothiesm), but he/she will be from the dwellers of (hell) fire." (sahih muslim, the book of faith, vol. 1, hadith no. 153. S.S.M.H 20) ... So from the above hadith and koranic verse, it is absolutely clear that whoever dies while he/she is nonmuslim, hell fire would be his/her dwelling place and he/she shall abide therein for all eternity.... Also Allah says "YES, BUT WHOEVER SUBMIT HIS (or her) FACE (ie him/her self) TO ALLAH (ie follows allah's religion of islamic monothiesm) AND HE (or she) IS A MUHSIN (ie a good doer who performs good deed totally for Allahs's sake only without any show off or to gain praise or fame, etc) THEN HIS (or her) REWARD IS WITH HIS LORD (Allah), ON SUCH SHALL BE NO FEAR NOR SHALL THEY GRIEVE (because the will be in heavenly paradise for all eternity)." KORAN2:112 🙂 also from this above verse, it is clear that whoever does righteous good deeds (ordained by Allah) whilst is a believer (ie muslim), then such people would be in paradise and they shall dwell therein for ever.... Every thing is made open and clear, its left for everyone to decide and choose what he/she wants for him/her self.

U may want to look at some of Dr Zakir Naik's conference vidoes. It will give u good explanation of things, and perhaps even answer ur questions in one of his videos. Im not sure how much of a good scholer he is as a whole, im not even sure if he is a qualified scholer, he once said something about zakat, and im not quite sure if his knowledge on that was correct or not. However, he has some great knowledge and is an expert when it comes to comparing religions and trying to get the misunderstandings cleared that some people have about islam, he explains it really really well, he also talks about science and islam and also how the quran is full of signs which shows that the quran is the word of God. Im sure u will benefit from those videos, and im sure he answers the question that u have just asked in one of his videos too, but im not sure what its called, sorry... In addition, this web address may be useful to u too... http://www.islamicwell.com/dawah_resources.htm
Our purpose of life is to do what pleases Allah, and to do that we need to accept Islam and do good deeds too, the more good deeds u do as a muslim the better ur rank in heaven would be. However, doing just good deeds is not enough, u have to have accepted islam inorder to enter heaven... research islam, u will be amazed and u will see, that yes, the quran is definetly the word of God and it is Allah alone that is worthy of worship and the prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) is the last messenger of Allah.
Its good that u are seeking knowledge, u seem to have a belief somewhere in ur heart that islam is the right religion. If u r not yet sure about islam being true, then research islam and when ur heart accepts islam as being the right religion then say the shadah/ kalimah and then start ur life as a muslim. U can say the kalimah for becoming a muslim online too, here is the web address... http://www.islamreligion.com/articles/204, and u can also have a one to one chat online on this site, and ask any questions that u may have regarding islam. Ask this question that u have to them as well. I dont think they are scholers, but they certainly do have a sound knowledge and can help u.
May Allah guide us all.
