snake

We live in Oman, while my sister in law due to the occasion of Sab-e-Baraat went to clean our house in India and she witnessed a baby snake running away into some dark corner of the kitchen....

  1. What's your question???

    • We heard since childhood that once baby snake dropped from the false ceiling and it was then killed by our elders, since that day the mother snake use to bang her head on the ceiling, later taking someone's advice my grandmother took the guts to climb with ladder and use to give milk for some days later she stopped with a compromise that they will not show-up to anybody, a year back one full grown snake was hissing loudly underneath the bed of my uncles room...while I reached with a long stick and laid on the ground to see how it looked like but it got disappeared..so I m worried after so many years again it is been sighted again...

  2. Do not kill the snake before saying three times . . . That ,
"if you are a jinn leave our house"
if it still remains and do not go after saying this. Call someone to remove it from ur house.

  3. Yes, what is your question. It's just a snake, not some evil spirit. Perhaps it's poisonous though... but remember Snakes are Allah's creatures too.

  4. Salam,
A snake is a bad thing, just like all the invisible Shaitans we battle in our daily lives. The snake is just a physical reminder to be vigilant of your duty to Allah swt.

  5. I'm still confused about the question, do you think their jinn?

    • Dear all,

I just want to throw some light on the sahih hadith that Allah's messenger Muhammed (s.a.w.) forbade the killing of the snakes in the houses. Except a few kind of snakes with stripes and spots as mentioned in the sahih hadith.
An incident occured in medina that a sahbi killed a snake and they both were found dead. The snake was a jinn.
Hazrat Aisha(r.t.a.) also killed a snake who entered her house. Later she came to know that it was a jinn. She did taubah and did sadqa as she had killed a jinn unintentionally.
Jinns like living in the form of snakes.
So be cautious before killing them.

      Thank you
      SHAAN
