Was my dream a sign?

Quran 6:16" He from whom (such retribution) is averted on that day, (Allah) hath in truth had mercy on him. That will be the signal triumph. "
Salaam,
While I was praying I felt someone behind me watching me, my sis said no one was in the room.
The same night, I dreamt that I was doing something wrong and in the dream I stopped myself and said: No, I learn from my mistakes I won't do that again. Today, I woke up feeling fulfilled. Is this a sign?
Thank you.

As salamu alaykum, Sister positevely,
Thank you for sharing, I don´t know if it is a sign, dreams are dreams, the message is good and comforted you deeply, I would stay with that . If you are facing any problems in your life, seems that you are ready to move on and you feel comfortable about your attitude, you have the strength to choose what is straight, Alhamdulillah.
Have this strength in mind when tests come to your life, insha´Allah.
From Heart to Heart,

Assalamu alaykum Sister,
Lot of us feel at times as if someone is behind or someone passed by when we were praying. We should constantly seek refuge of Allah even while in salat and concentrate on salaat as it may be whispers of shaytaan making us feel so.
Concentration on Allah alone in salaat is necessary as we do iqamatis salaat - establish prayer - for the remembrance of Allah. So try to think as much of Allah and concentrate in salaat by seeking refuge from shaytaan and remembering you are standing, bowing and prostrating to Allah who is surrounding all things.
As far as your dream is concerned, it is good, I had similar type of dream a couple of years back when someone uknown to me was holding my hand and pushing me hard in to sin, but I left and turned away from it. Alhamdulillaah.
Some months back I had a dream and I saw in front of me letters in unkown languages in form of verses and Shaytaan was pushing me hard to read them and follow him, but in the dream I puled my self back form him and I started saying " I seek refuge in Allah" till I puled myself out of my dream and the sleep. Some time back I had a dream of a man with turban and moustache and smiling cunningly and behaving bad and someone told me he is your prophet and I knew it was Shaytaan whispering. Last year for a few nights, I head the most eloquent voice in Arabic and it was not Qur'an, but felt like it was giving me all wisdom, all those words in that voice, I don't know much of Arabic language, yet in the dream I could understand it all and it began from the time I slept till I woke up, a perfect voice, without any break, the most amazing voice I ever heard and something like it I never witnessed in my life in reality until now.
Many times our dreams reflect our subconciousness worries, happiness, fears, hopes etc and whatsoever good we see it is from Allah and evil is the work of shaytaan. Whatever good we have it is from Allah. So if you saw goodness in dream, it is from Allah, a sign of your strong iimaan that you are indeed right on the path. May Allah make you see more dreams of guidance and make your iimaan firm.
Allah always wants tu to be firm in our iiman and not doubt, so your dream is a good sign for your surety of faith and warding off evil.
The more pure dreams you have indicates the more purity in your intentions and actions. But a dream is a dream. If it is good, Alhamdulillah. If you have a bad dream, seek refuge in Allah.
Hope the advice helps.
Salaam.
Your brother.
Dear sister Positively,
I believe that Allah SWT speaks to us through our dreams. Often we cannot decipher right away what He is saying. You should write down each dream as soon as you wake up, and then read what you wrote a few days later. After reading a few of these summaries, you may find a pattern therein.
There is a verse in the Quran ... I'm not sure where it is exactly....but it says that Allah SWT takes our souls during the night, and for those who are to remain living he returns them to us in the morning. That is such a comforting thought. In my darkest moments i have had some very very comforting dreams, and I can only assume - rightly, I think -- that that was Allah's way of comforting me.
Only you will know if this dream has any significance in the context of what is going on in your life right now.
