Islamic marriage advice and family advice

Welcome to our new editors

Daisies, flowers, sky and clouds

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

Traffic to this website has increased dramatically in the last year. In the month of November 2009 we had 14,853 visitors. And last month, January 2011? 94,016.

As a result, we are getting more questions than we can answer. We used to answer questions within a few days. Now we have a backlog of 180 questions waiting to be published, and the wait time is about three months. Obviously, that is too long. People with serious problems cannot wait three months for an answer.

Alhamdulillah, we have some relief on the horizon. We have added five new editors, more than doubling the size of our team. They are currently in training mode, and once that is completed they will help us get more of these questions published and answered every day, Insha'Allah.

I would like to introduce the new editors. They are:

Muhammad1982 - Editor, says about himself, "I am 28 years old and have a master degree in Business Management. I work as full-time receptionist and have a part-time sales job. I have previously worked as a teacher, a sales officer in pharmaceutical company and assistant marketing officer in a multi-national firm. I am passionate about helping people in need and find peace and happiness in doing so and find myself more close to Allah Almighty. I love to learn new things, more importantly about our beautiful religion and try to pass it on to others and use my knowledge for the greater benefit of human beings. My hobbies include swimming, gym, extreme-cycling, skating, free running, learning new languages, meeting people from different backgrounds, cultures and to get to know them, watching documentaries about historic events, science fiction etc. Also, I love reading, traveling to see different places and if I have nothing else to do then I cook for my friends or family whenever I can. I am privileged to have been offered this opportunity to help other human beings with my very limited knowledge of religion through this beautiful platform. May Allah (SWT) help us understand our religion in its true spirit and help us implement this in our daily lives and reflect through our actions. (Amin)."

Sara - Editor, says about herself, "I have previously studied Arabic at the Ibn Jabal institute, UK, and am currently studying Tajweed part time. I love learning new things, particularly Arabic (MSA), which I study obsessively as it brings me closer to the word of God – the Qur’an. My father is revert and I feel privileged to have alhumdulilah been taught about the religion Islam by my parents without it being diluted by culture. I love learning about my deen and trying to apply it in my life, and hope I am able to pass on the (little) knowledge I have and help others InshaAllah. I have a wide range of weird and wonderful hobbies including Arabic, trying international cuisine, gaming, sports learning new skills and spending time with family. I especially love Indian and Arabic food."

Umm Abdullah - Editor, is a single mother of three that she is homeschooling. In the past she had written for an advice column in "The Ambition", as well as for a magazine called "Muslim Youth Reflection". She has done a course in counselling skills and considers it an honor to be able to listen and respond to her Muslim brothers and sisters around the world. She enjoys writing poetry, being silly with her children, learning about the world and how to survive it and our deen; Al-Islam. "May Allah subhanahu wa tala Protect us all and Guide us to His Pleasure ... Ameen."

Maria - Editor, is a mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, grandaughter, friend, student, teacher and mainly spiritual sister of everyone.

Amy - Editor, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Relations as well as a Master of Arts degree in Counseling. She is currently a licensed associate professional counselor in her state, employed as a life coach for a nationally recognized corporation. Amy is currently married and has three sons. She is a revert to Islam and has been practicing for 8 years. Her hobbies include reading, music, Sufism, traveling, and searching for the best hamburger ever made.

Please welcome them, and may Allah grant us sincerity, purity of niyyah, and wisdom.
