  1. As salamu alaykum,

Brother Stranger shared the following with us, I highly recommend it if you want to learn about dua:

""""""If you really want to learn more about the dua and complete your spiritual quest, then I would encourage you to listen to the audio of book of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi, titled, "Dua, the weapon of the believer". I have not come across any other book in English that is more comprehensive about the subject of dua other than this book.

    Audio Book: http://www.halaltube.com/yasir-qadhi-dua-weapon-of-the-believer

    PDF Copy: http://www.kalamullah.com/Books/Dua%20The%20Weapon%20Of%20The%20Believer.pdf

    Jazakallah.""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

And of course, you have a link on dua on the top of the page.

Insha´Allah, this will be helpful for you.

    Wasalam,

  2. Their is no set method, or way to make dua simply learn the arabic part, such as dua after namaaz and general dua, and the rest of the dua is made by you, thank and ask Allah for forgivness, and anything else you want, they key is to feel close to your lord.

You can get basic arabic dua from your local islamic bookshop or online, their is also a site that offers free duas, http://www.duas.org/namaz.htm, this is a great site, it has duas for everything you could ever want, and they are in english and arabic.

  3. It is highly recommended to glorify Allah 1st by reciti Al-Fatiha and Surah Qadr and Ayat al kursi (because they glorify Allah), then send blessings on the Prophet (SA) and thenand then make dua in whichever language you feel you can express yourself and your emotions the best - Allah knows all languages...LOL...people seem to think all duas should be in arabic, but we are all not native arabic speakers and I would rather not mispronounce a word and have its meaning change by attempting to do it all in arabic. Invoke Allah by the names you find closest to your need, example, I use His qualities of As-Samee and Al-Baseer (the One who Sees and Hears all) for all my duas and use Ar-Razzaq if I am asking for good, halal rizq/job etc. Then end dua with sending blessings on the Prophet (SAW) again, as it is said that until the dua is "enclosed" with this darood, it remains suspended in the atmosphere and does not reach the heavens.
Also, make dua when it is prescribed to e the best time:

Make sure that you ask Allah to give you what is best for you in this world and the hereafter, as what you maybe asking for, may not be good for you, as we humans have no knowledge of the future and what is best for us. Also make sure that you never make a negative dua against someone.

  4. siva, just ask him directly from your heart , he is always listening and responding.
