Marriage to my Wife’s Sister

My friend's sister in law wants to marry with him in absence of his wife.

How is it possible in absence of her own sister.

Please guide them.

  1. DLKO, I'm sorry, but I don't understand your question. What do you mean, "in absence of his wife"? What happened to the wife? Did she die?

If the wife passed away, then yes, it is allowed for the man to marry her sister.

  2. Salaam brother, i read your question a few times, and concluded this; my understanding is that his wifre has gone to another country or pilgrimage or somewhere away from her husband, this is because you used absence rather than deceased or somthing which denotes permanent leave.

In this case his sister-in-law is deluded, and has no respect for his marriage, or her sister, and this is forbidden.

However if his wife is deceased, then as brother wael said above it is permissible.

    hope this helps
