  1. what do you want to avoid sister?

How does any human being avoid dying?

i am not clear about your question my dear.

    • Samira, I think the sister believes that her dreams are somehow causing these other people to die, and she wants to stop it from happening.

      • Thank you Wael.

I dont know much about dreams from an Islamic perspective, and why some people are sensitive and have "predicting dreams" if you want to call it that. You have to speak to a imam or look into islam QA and ask a qualified sheik about dreams and their meanings and why your friend has these feelings about other peoples death. Allah knows best.

But rest assured that Allah is the one who creates life and takes it away. Not your friend! There is nothing to avoid, nothing to do about it. Your friend is a just a human being. We all will die one day my dear, you, I and your friend who predicts people's deaths. There is nothing you can do about it. Death is just a part of Allah's plan for us all.

You can stay all your life fearing the inevitable and trying to prevent your friend from dreaming about u....???, or you can embrace that your friend has a weird ability to dream about certain things, and trust that Allah has a plan for each and every one of us- and there is nothing you can avoid or do anything about it expect be a good muslim and die as a believer. You can use your fear of death for the better and improving yourself.

Do your part, and trust Allah with the things you cannot do.

Relax my dear, there are alot fo things in life you cannot control, so just let it go and sleep easy.

All the best to you and relax my dear. =)

  2. Asalam,

after reading your post , i was amazed to know that something like this too happened to me. whenever i see a dream of someone's death (known or unknown) i am sure that someone is going to die. at first i thought this to be coincidence but gradually i was sure that there must be something........ if i dream about any unknown person dying than someone close to me would definitely die. very recently i saw a very bad dream about my own brother , that he died and that too not a natural one. and after a few days, i got the news of a young boy who was murdered. recently , my grandmother has expired and on the night before she had a stroke , i dreamt that an old person was strucked by our car and he was very critical. i clearly remember, in my dream, i was so confused whether the person died or not but in my heart i knew that he would die or perhaps died . and in the morning we got the news that our grandmother had a massive stroke and has been hospitalized . we were pretty unsure of her chance of survival as she was on ventilator. i had the same feeling as that of my dream.

these are just two of the incident , but many a times it happened with me?

    • Sister please do not share the details of a bad dream for all to see. I do not know about the authenticy of this but what I do believe is no matter how bad a dream is always "give it a good taabeer (meaning). Try to think of it positively because ones interpretation of it is important. So even if you have a terrible dream, try to expect it to have a good meaning if you must or let it go.

This is my opinion and something I have been brought up with. There is a hadith but I do not know about how strong it is - Allah knows best but I will share it with you:

Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If any one of you sees a dream that he likes, this is from Allaah, so let him praise Allaah for it and talk about it to others. If he sees other than that, a dream that he dislikes, this is from the Shaytaan, so let him seek refuge with Allaah from its evil and not mention it to anyone, for it will not harm him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6584, and Muslim, 5862).

      • Salam, I would also like to add to the sisters comment that inform your friend to not only keep bad dreams to herself but to read some Qur'an before she sleeps, ayat al kursi will protect the lady until she wakes up for the morning. Allah is with whom power belongs but I too do not know much about this subject so will refrain from saying much but from what I do know I would advise your friend to read some Qur'an and duaa's before sleeping and when she has her bad dream to spit over her left shoulder gently and to say 'aotho bil lah min il shaytan il rajem' which helps void away shaytan, also make sure to tell her to sleep always on her right hand side inshallah, I would advise her to read Surat all iklas 3 times, Surat all falaq 3 times and Surah al nas 3 times, that's what I would do. Allah is all powerful, all wise.

  3. Aswak,

My exp is really different in this matter. When I see someone dying in my dream it brings a greater luck
to that person and its a good sign for that person.I feel very happy if someone tells that they saw me dying/dead in there dream.

  4. Assalamu'alaikum,

First of all, dreams that come true are possible, because a Hadith in Bukhari says:

    Narrated Abu Huraira Radiyallahu Anhu:

I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "Nothing is left of the prophetism except Al-Mubashshirat." They asked, "What are Al-Mubashshirat?" He replied, "The true good dreams (that conveys glad tidings)."

But when one had dreams one dislikes, one should avoid narrating it to anyone.

    Narrated Abu Salama

I used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard Abu Qatada saying, "I too, used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard the Prophet saying, "A good dream is from Allah, so if anyone of you saw a dream which he liked, he should not tell it to anybody except to the one whom he loves, and if he saw a dream which he disliked, then he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil and from the evil of Satan, and spit three times (on his left) and should not tell it to anybody, for it will not harm him." (Bukhari)

    Narrated Abu Qatada

The Prophet said, "A good dream that comes true is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan, so if anyone of you sees a bad dream, he should seek refuge with Allah from Satan and should spit on the left, for the bad dream will not harm him. (Bukhari)

    Narrated Abu Huraira
Allah's Apostle said, "When the Day of Resurrection approaches, the dreams of a believer will hardly fail to come true, and a dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of prophetism, and whatever belongs to prothetism can never be false." (Bukhari)

It was narrated from Abu Razin that he heard the Prophet (saw) say: “Dreams are attached to the foot of a bird (meaning that they are not settled or they do not come to pass) until they are interpreted, then when they are interpreted they come to pass.” He said: “And dreams are one of the forty-six parts of prophecy.” He (the narrator) said: “And I think he said: ‘(A person) should not tell them except to one whom he loves or one who is wise.’” (Ibn Majah - Hasan)

So one should avoid narrating dreams except good ones to people who are highly trustworthy (and they will not become jealous of you). Bad dreams should never be narrated to anyone whosoever.

It is possible that one be informed about the happenings in the future, as dreams are a part of prophecy. One need not fear them and I do not think anything can be done to "avoid" them. We have no say in what dreams we see.
