Can Someone Do Istikhara for you without your knowledge?

can one Muslim make istikhah for another Muslim without his/her knowledge?

    I am not exactly sure what you are asking by your question. Are you asking if someone can ask for guidance on another's behalf without them knowing? Or are you asking if someone is asking for their own guidance about whether to marry someone else without that person knowing?

    I suppose anyone can ask Allah for guidance on behalf of others, but whether or not that will be answered or to what degree no one can really say. I am also not sure how having that information would benefit the asker, unless they happen to be close to that person or plan on sharing it.

    If you are making istikhara about marrying someone and that person does not yet realize you have an interest in them, you can make istikhara if you are not certain you should propose or not, and they don't need to know this.
