Assalam Alaikum,

I am confused about getting married. It's a long story but I will try to make it short. I am from Pakistan but brought up in Saudi Arabia. I came to UK from Saudi Arabia to study over six years ago. When I came to UK, I stopped praying as I was on my own first time without my parents and I was quite young. A girl brought me back to my deen. I fell in love with her but when she realized this she had argument with me and stopped talking and completely cut all the contacts.

Now 4 years later after she left, I have finished my masters. During this time my family put. pressure on me to get married within the extended family. But I said I don't want to get married. and made an excuse that I. am still looking for a full time job. but actually. I was looking for someone. religious. who can. be a guidance for me.

About a year ago, I met another girl on Muslim matrimonial site. We had a chat over the phone and we met twice as well. She is a person who I can say is religious and can help me in my deen as well. She is down to earth.. Couple of day's back I ended up proposing to her over the phone. She said she will call me back as she needed some time to think about it. The day after, I missed a call from her and when I called back, her phone was switched off.

Now my family asked me to get married to another girl who is daughter of my dad's childhood friend. They are settled in America. Only my eldest brother has seen her and no one else in the family. As a recent graduate I am still looking for a job. I asked my parents to give me time to get job. But they replied that she will bring her riziq with her.

I don't know what to do? Shall I say yes to parents or wait for the girl I met on the site to get back to me. It is nearly 4 days since proposed her.
