  1. Assalam O Alaikum sister Kanzii,
    As the Hadith above reflects that a woman cannot be forced to get married to someone against her wishes if in case you are wondering about the actual hadith then,

    Khansa Bint Khidam said,
    "My father married me to his nephew, and I did not like this match, so I complained to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). He (PBUH) Said to me, "accept what your father has arranged." I said; "I do not wish to accept what my father has arranged."
    HE (PBUH) said, "then this marriage is invalid, go and marry whomever you wish." I said, "I have accepted what my father has arranged, but I wanted women to know that fathers have no right in their daughter's matters (i-e. they have no right to force a marriage on them).
    (Fathul Bari Sharah Al Bukhari 9/194, Ibn Majah Kitabun Nikah 1/602)

    Again, a woman can marry anyone she finds attractive, noble, religious, can support a family, has good character, honest and upright and someone who is striving to improve in deen, HOWEVER, a Muslim woman does need a wali. The order follows;
    The most entitled to marry a woman off is her father, then her grandfather, including every male in the direct line of ascent (grandfather, great grandfather, and so on), then her son, then the grandchild no matter how far the line of descent, then her full brother, then her brother from father's side and then their sons no matter how far the line of descent, then uncles. If the guardianship of nearest man is cancelled than it is transferred to the one who is next to him. Finally, it goes to the ruler and he will marry her off if it is cancelled from all the guardians, as the Prophet (PBUH) said; "The ruler is the guardian of the one who does not have a guardian." (Abu Daawood)

    All this is to protect the honor of women sister so that their best interest are considered as well.
    I hope this will help you insha Allah, please write back if you need help. May Allah (swt) provide the means to ease the pain and suffering of you and other sisters who are facing similar problems. Amin
