Ramadan Mubarak! Happy Ramadan 1435 / 2014

Ramadan Mubarak, brothers and sisters!

Alhamdulillah, the holy month of Ramadan has arrived. It's a time when we strive to purify our hearts and renew our intentions in every aspect of our lives, bringing our lives into the service of Allah the Most High.

I want to mention an experience I had recently. I had been running a $5 per day ad campaign on Facebook for one of my websites, and then Facebook suddenly billed me $933 in one night. I demanded a refund, but they refused. Customer service for Facebook Ads is very stubborn and mostly non-responsive.

This was a real financial hardship for me. I needed that money for my daughter's summer school and for various other personal expenses.

A few weeks later I was at the masjid and remembered a pledge of $200 I had made almost a year ago during a masjid fundraiser. For some reason I had never gotten around to fulfilling my pledge. I guess my finances always felt too tight, and I kept putting it off. That's bad, I know. Well, I had the money in my pocket, so I said, "Bismillah" and fulfilled my pledge.

Shortly afterwards I received an email from Facebook saying, "Great news, Wael! We have refunded your Facebook Ads payment."

I had given up on getting that money back. But SubhanAllah! When you give to Allah, He gives more back to you, always.

We live in an age when atheism is growing in popularity. That amazes and appalls me, because I know without doubt that Allah is real, and Islam is real. I have seen the evidence so many times. People of faith can see that life is full of miracles. You don't have to be a saint to see them. You just have to open your eyes.

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala cares about you and is ready to help you, guide you and forgive you. He is ready to give you your own miracle. Just turn to Him with faith, and ask.

Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to our other Editors on this website; and our loyal readers and commenters; and to Allahu Ta'alaa for all the blessings of my life.

Have a wonderful Ramadan. Turn to Allah in all things. Be grateful for every bite of food when you break your fast, and every breath in your lungs. Let's trust in Allah to guide us and give us strength and certainty.

O Allah, for You do we fast, and for You do we break our fast. All praise is due to You, who fed us, and gave us to drink, and made us Muslims. Purify us during this month, relieve us from our burdens, and forgive us. - Ameen.

Good to hear you got your money back and yes you are right that when you give in Allahs way you get more back. So many times I had sacrificed things for Allahs sake and always got something better in return. ALHAMDULILLAH. If only people knew the beauty behind Allahs plans.

I pray everyone has a joyous ramadhan and please make dua for all the brothers and sisters around the world. Lets be united and pray for one another. InshaAllah
    Salaam alaykum

  4. Assalamu'alaikum,

A very happy Ramadan! Have all your sins forgiven this Ramadan and earn the Pleasure of Allah.

Begin it with hope of Allah's Mercy and Forgiveness. Some things to do:

    1. Along with obligatory prayers, pray 12 rakaa'aat of Sunnah everyday.
    2. Pray the taraweeh, even if you have to pray it at home.
    3. Never miss the witr prayer.
    4. Read the Quran and complete it at least once in the entire month.
    5. Get a copy of Hisn al Muslim and read the daily supplications including morning adhkaar, evening adhkaar and all others.
    6. Avoid getting angry and forgive people who show anger.
    7. Remind people not to sin and to avoid vain talk. Make yourself busy in worship.
    8. Do not backbite.
    9. Do all the shopping quickly and in the day.
    10. Pray in the nights and make a lot of du'a.
    11. Fast, pray the night prayer and look for Laylatul Qadr, with complete hope and belief that Allah Will Forgive you.
    12. If you are in Saudi Arabia or if you can make it, try to do Umrah, because an Umrah in Ramadan is rewarded as a Hajj with Rasoolullah Sallallahu Aiahi Wasallam.
    13. Make du'a for me; so that Allah Eases my affairs, Gives me Barakah and Becomes Pleased with me 🙂

  5. Ass Salam o Allaykum,

You should learn that nothing in this World can do it 100% except Allah, the truths of religion are never so well understood as by those who have lost the power of reasoning, freedom of choice comes at the price of intermittent insanity, no child really chooses his religion; We are not born with Golden spoon, I know Allah listen to his people, He even come for help, sometimes its late, sometimes its too late, where a person lost his hopes, so my friend it is just the luck of the draw which blanket of beliefs you are wrapped in, Allah already set us free, the happiness were not in spite of sadness, but thanks to him.
After all this knowings I would like to ask you, as you several letters responses I have seen and I appreciate your patients and enthusiasm toward dragging people on right path, such as Faith on Allah, offerig Namaz with zeal & lots more, I have three questions to ask from you, I don't want the answers in "prayers will be responded on the day of judgement or Allah will give you in next world...after death..."
    1. I offer 5 times Namaz, pays Zakat, than to my Dua's are never fulfilled, not from now but years.
    2. I am involved in masturbation for approx when i was 12 years, till now & its impossible for me to get ridoff with such Sin, even I tried several attempt , still not married, now Ramadan will fall on Sunday (tomorrow) and I am afraid I cannot stop myself from such errors (Sin) what would you suggest ...should I keep Fasting or ....?
    3. I am still unable to take decision for marriage and now i am in my mid 40s.... D'B...15-6-1969.
It shows I will never be able to erase such sin and I think my Roza (Fasting) would be thrown out...
Please help me in this regard as I annoyed with it....
    Regards

    • Come on bro Sayeed!

Fasting twice a week (on Mondays and Thursdays) decreases your sexual desires, let alone fasting throughout the whole month of Ramadan! Shaitaan and his helpers are not around to operate in this blessed month--it's ONLY you and your nafs, so fight your own nafs, with patience and lots of ibadah, and attain a power from that to fight Shaitaan and his helpers after Ramadan. On Facebook, someone posted a designed-phone with low battery, and wrote "Ramadan! Recharge your iman"

My brother, dedicate all your time in religious activities, such as being in the masjid most of your time, reading the Holy Quran or listening to it, listening to Taqwa lectures etc, in addition to spending ten days in the jum'ah masjid for I'tikaaf, during the last ten days of Ramadan.

Ramadan is like the rain season for farming food for the heart--if you missed it, then there would be no harvesting for your heart, let alone a food for it, in the dry season, and plus the robbers (Shaitaan and his helpers) are waiting to steal the little food that you were going to manage. Yaa Salaam, Your Protection!

Fasting the whole month of Ramadan is obligatory upon us, so long as we live and are not sick or on a journey. In your case, you have not fulfilled the conditions for neither of the two exemptions.

      Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Says:

      183. O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become righteous.

      184. For a specified number of days. But whoever among you is sick, or on a journey, then a number of other days. For those who are able: a ransom of feeding a needy person. But whoever volunteers goodness, it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.

      185. Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was revealed. Guidance for humanity, and clear portents of guidance, and the Criterion. Whoever of you witnesses the month, shall fast it. But whoever is sick, or on a journey, then a number of other days. God desires ease for you, and does not desire hardship for you, that you may complete the number, and celebrate God for having guided you, so that you may be thankful.

      (Quran 2: 183-185)

As for the self seeing it's ibadah and counting them for Allah, is an indication of imperfection of the ibadah. Even the utmost ibadah on earth would not be enough to repay Allah for the ni'mah/grace of an eye, let alone for Islam as the most complete blessing ever on earth, so what else makes you entitled to get your worldly desires fulfilled by Allah.

      Ramadan Kareem!

      • Say, "Are you going to teach Allah about your religion, when Allah knows everything in the heavens and the earth, and Allah is aware of all things?"

        (Quran 49: 16)

  6. Sukuralhumdullilah!!!! Shaitan is now locked up huraaaay 😀 I wish the shaitan in my nafs also been looked up in hell. 🙂 may Allah guide us from those evil deeds!!!!

  7. Ramadan Kareem to all!

  8. Ramadhaan mubarak to all. Thanks for sharing your reply very inspiring and its true the least you expect it Allah gives more. Never lose hope, stay focus and keep Allah in your hearts everyday!
