A dream about forgiveness

broken heart

Last night I had an odd dream about an ex. In my dream I was with a couple of my friends eating, and out of nowhere I see my ex trying to talk to me, but unfortunately I was so mad at him that I ignored him. By the time  I was done me and my friends decided to leave, and as I was walking he walked right next to me and stated speaking to me.

I do not remember the whole detail of our conversation, but at the end of that he took hold of me by my elbow. I moved my hand into his hand by holding position and I smiled at him; forgiving him. when I woke up I was so shocked by dreaming about him because it never happens. I moved on and now I am with someone who I plan to get married to, but deep inside my heart he will always be there and it is  a sad thing. Even though I am with someone, there is that part of me that wants him still.

  1. all i can say is that sister just keep making dua. i have no idea if it's from shytaan or from ALLAH. just pray istikharah insALLAH. things will be okay .have hope in ALLAH. and ask Him to guide u to the way to Him.

  2. salaam

do dua and pray for the best the love that you once shared for some one will always be there that is part of human nature but you have moved on you need to focus on your current situation
i would also as brother Abdula advised tell you to pray the istahara dua asking allah to guide you and help you to make it easier to ascertain what is good for you and keep away what is bad for you

    allah hafiz

    • Salaam Sister fozia,
your right about that his love will always be in my heart for the rest of my life and i am okay with it. insha allah god will give me someone like that one day Ameen

  3. Salaams,

Dreams can often stir up old or latent emotions, but this doesn't mean that there is any significance to it. It is very possible that your subconscious mind was trying to resolve anything leftover from that previous relationship so you can approach your future with your fiancé free and clear.

Make isikhara if you have any misgivings about your fiancé or the upcoming marriage. If you give it a few days and you are not thinking about your ex, then just chalk this dream up to an isolated incident.

  4. It's normal to have lingering feelings for someone you were involved with in the past. It doesn't mean that you still love that person, or that you belong with him/her.

  5. Thank you everyone,
as for isikhara it did worked, mash allah god has showed me something that was important . as i was planing to accept a marriage proposal i found out the brother was already married someone else, subhanallah why lie to sister. as it turns out wallahi i forgive the brother and i moved on with my life. I guess my dream was telling me look into the person more and him apologizing was actually the one i was thinking to marry.

  6. Dreams are of three types: rahmaani (those that come from Allaah), nafsaani (psychological, they come from within a person) and shaytaani (those that come from the Shaytaan). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Dreams are of three types: a dream from Allaah, a dream which causes distress and which comes from the Shaytaan, and a dream which comes from what a person thinks about when he is awake, and he sees it when he is asleep.” (al-Bukhaari, 6499; Muslim, 4200)
