I feel depressed for no reason; please suggest a du’a
Hey, is there any dua for a peace of mind? I've been over thinking for no reason and find myself getting scared and start questioning life and not wanting to live any more.
AstaghfarAllah! Please make some dua for me and please let me know what are some dua I can recite. I'm a Muslim and a believer but this gets to me and I just want to be at peace again. What can this be? Please help InshAllah.
I use to be very energetic and outgoing and loved doing things now just lost hope and I keep on trying and trying to believe but for some reason the thought "is this real" and why am I alive " gets to me and makes me feel worse and I start panicking, what can this be? Please make dua for me I'm only 19.

Salam Arwa,
I have been exactly where you are right now. I didn't understand how I felt and I seemed to have lost my drive to do anything. I felt so low but I could not understand why. I went to my doctor and did a full panel of blood tests. My vitamin "D" was very low. Did you know that vitamin D can affect our behavior and our moods? Neither did I!
Rather than continue to feel the way you do, see your doctor and get a blood work up. It would be a good place to start. Talk to your doctor about how you feel. You also sound as though you might be experiencing a bit of anxiety. There are medications that can help with this and there is absolutely nothing wrong in taking something if you need it. One of my girls randomly feels anxiety and although she does not want to be on med's, she will take it if she needs it and it helps her tremendously.
Hope you feel better and please Arwa...know that you are not alone in the way that you feel.
Salam
Assamamu Alaykum Arwa,
Please, please, do not listen to these whispers of Shaytaan.
As one reaches the age of an adult, Shaytaan preys upon our ego. You are smart, you know there is a reasonable explanation for the creation of the universe, a group of men with enourmous brains have determined that a "Big Bang" created the world. It's all science. You are smart, you know none of this religious stuff is just for fools. He tries to separate you from Allah at every turn.
Yet even those men with huge minds cannot answer what cause their "Big Bang". If their theories are correct, if they have been able to even glimpse into the will of Allah and his methods of creation, they cannot explain what caused the big bang. This theory says the entire universe exploded from a single infinitely small point. Wow, that sure sounds like something Allah could do. Say "Be" and it is. The hand of Allah.
Even the god of these astrophysicists, Steven Hawking, recently said that the universe created itself. What hogwash. So Shaytaan has made them so vain and inflated their ego so greatly that they cannot open their mind to the best answer to this question. The answer that we cannot know the will of Allah, we cannot know His plan, only Allah knows His plan. He created us all, from nothing. The evidence is there, yet they refuse to see.
Your soul knows Allah. Your soul knows the truth. You struggle. It could be that your soul is working to wake you up. Turn to Him, he will not abandon you. Pray, get out and live, exercise, study the Qu'oran, pray more.

Sister Arwa, Salamualaikum,
There are a lot of Duas you can recite. Just grab a copy of the book of Duas called Hisn al Muslim (Fortress of the Muslim) and make best use of it. You can buy that at an Islamic Center or download it from here:
http://d1.islamhouse.com/data/en/ih_books/single/en_hisn_al-muslim.pdf
Also pray a lot of Nawaful (voluntary prayers) and read a lot of Quran. In sha Allah, you'll find peace. Indeed, what Allah said is true without a doubt:
Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and
whose hearts find rest in the
remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the
remembrance of Allah do hearts find
rest .
(surah ar Ra'd, Aayah 28)

i used to b energetic and fun loving n i nevr thought about any thing but now its totally opposite:(
all day i keep on thinking negative n its really depressing me more
Salam Sis,
I've mentioned this before but here goes again. A year ago I also went through some depression. I didn't know why and could not pin point the reason I felt the way I did. A visit to my doctor and a full blood work up and it was determined that my vitamin "D" was really low. What I did not know is how the lack of vitamin "D" affects the body and our moods. Didn't have a clue! My advise, see your doctor...tell him/her how you are feeling. You don't have to suffer in silence you know. There are often underlying reasons why we feel the way we do, you just need to find out why.
