Dua for sickness and ill health
Asalamalaikum,
Since summer last year, my mum injured her back by merely doing normal household tasks. She had slipped two discs in her lower spine (herniates disc) which cause her severe discomfort and she was unable to move. Since then she is still in discomfort and her discs always seem to come out. She has been to the doctor and had medication to ease pain, as well as receiving physio therapy.
I believe nothing works better than the power of Allah and Dua subhanallah and I was wondering if there was any dua either I or my mum could recite so that she is healthy and well again? She is also now on depression and this causes her to cry at random times over nothing and feel lonely. I'm either at uni or work and get really scared when she's alone. Is there anything I can pray/read for her depression also?
My mum is the biggest blessing in my world and it really upsets me seeing her in pain 🙁

My mother had a prolapsed disc which the doctors in the country I live in wanted to perform major back surgery on, but we found out about this great private hospital in Germany that perform straight forward laser surgery on people with back problems. Although the laser surgery is quite expenssive (over 13,000 Euros / 20,000 dollars), it's definitely worth checking out! My mum has absolutely NO pains now, whatsoever, nor any problems with walking normally. You could do some research about the same kind of surgery in the area you live in...

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.632 Narrated by Abu Said Al Khudri
Some of the companions of the Prophet (saws) came across a tribe amongst the tribes of the Arabs, and that tribe did not entertain them. While they were in that state, the chief of that tribe was bitten by a snake (or stung by a scorpion). They said, (to the companions of the Prophet), "Have you got any medicine with you or anybody who can treat with Ruqya?" The Prophet's (saws) companions said, "You refuse to entertain us, so we will not treat (your chief) unless you pay us for it." So they agreed to pay them a flock of sheep. One of them (the Prophet's (saws) companions) started reciting Surat-al-Fatiha and gathering his saliva and spitting it (at the snake or scorpion bite). The patient got cured and his people presented the sheep to them, but they said, "We will not take it unless we ask the Prophet (saws) (whether it is lawful)." When they asked him, he (saws) smiled and said, "How do you know that Surat-al-Fatiha is a Ruqya? Take it (flock of sheep) and assign a share for me."
So, let her put the right hand where pain is and recite Sura Al Fatiha,with sincerity and conviction of Allah's Power. Allah SWT is The Healer.
(From my own experience pain (in a different area in my case) goes away in about 5-7 min, SubhanaAllah)
However, she should continue to do whatever her doctor has prescribed.
If I am wrong, I hope Editors of this website will correct me. May Allah (SWT) heal you mom.

I had a slipped disc and doctor advised absolute bed rest, Alhamdulillah I was alright in 3 months... During these months I recited surah yaseen with the intention of cure. Alhamdulillah felt great relief. And also ask the doc for exercises which are of great help. May Allah cure ur mum. Aameen
